Thanks SWS... I don't do all those setting things on those ASV machines...it's beyond my pay grade.-SWS wrote: You're welcome. Glad I could help also!
That's why I just tell people to put "ASV" in the subject line....I just don't want to have to learn some thing else new when I have you I can call upon.

Ah, Pugsy.... If it weren't for you I wouldn't have the "easy" feeling inside that I do---about the guidance and quality of information newcomers get on this message board. My hats off to you, my friend!

Not to worry, Nooblakahn. I was only pulling your leg.... And Pugsy truly deserves a million thanks.
A side note about your backup ASV. I think if I used ASV, I would try for the "other" brand as my backup machine. If I had a current-model Resmed ASV, then I would shop for a current-model Respironics ASV as my backup. Conversely, if I had a current-model Respironics ASV, then I would shop for a current-model Resmed ASV. The two ASV brands are often dispensed interchangeably. Anyway, having one of each brand would allow you to decide whether one model suited you better than the other. If so, that model could become your primary ASV machine, and the other model would make a good emergency spare.

I hear yah there. And that would be ideal. From what I understand scripts for the machines are specific. So mine would need converted over. Also talking a vast price difference. This 7s model was alot cheaper than what the prs 1 asv machines go for.-SWS wrote:Not to worry, Nooblakahn. I was only pulling your leg.... And Pugsy truly deserves a million thanks.

Re: possible backup asv unit , compatible with current script?
That's not entirely true. Before the latest-generation S9 ASV, one could dispense a Resmed ASV script on a Respironics ASV; conversely, one could not always make a Respironics ASV script work on a Resmed ASV. These values can be set up on the latest Resmed ASV, the latest Respironics ASV, or the immediately-prior generation Respironics ASV:Nooblakahn wrote: From what I understand scripts for the machines are specific.
So the good news is that you could shop for this older Respironics model, and it could be programmed with exactly the same values as above:Nooblakahn wrote:therapy mode: asvauto

min EPAP 8.0 cm H20
Max PS 15.0 cm H20
Min PS 2.0 cm H20

That older model doesn't provide detailed flow graphs. That shortcoming speaks of data reporting only---not therapy. But it does deliver an EPAP auto-range, and it can also deliver MIN PS 2cm. If you shop hard, you can probably find that model in the $350 to $500 price range used. Good luck.
