WHenever I come across people who behave like Mozart I try to remember the words of a guy i worked with at Merck: " he said: John never let what the assholes say get to you because being an asshole is its own REWARD. That's sanction enough. Mozart is stuck with being Mozart 24 hours a day, what worse punishment could be inflicted on him?

I wasn't so much thinking about how to punish him, but rather how to not have the toxicity inflicted on others.

Thanks for reminding us not to stereotype groups of people.

Based on your posts, I not at all surprised to hear this about your grandson.

+1 I am not surprised either . You could say that the grand tadpole doesn't swim too far from the frog (My lame attempt to rewrite the Apple from the tree metaphor )

Now let me tell you about MY 10 year old granddaughter....

She is sweet, kind, a straight A student, has many after school activities and is beautiful too. Oh... and absolutely delicious!

I LOVE being a ramma, which is her new nickname for me. Grandpa is rammpa.

If anyone would like to know more about her, just ask!

ems,

I love the nicknames! I hope to someday be able to have the joy to be blessed with a great grandchild like yours. I am sure if you had a shirt with buttons on while you were typing your post that they would be all popped off with pride .

Carolyn is the one to make that call. This has been brought to her attention.

Omigod! No "Proper Profile"! The world has stopped spinning!

I have supplemented my information to correct same.

Since this boy is angry at the planet, it would not be unreasonable to consider drug and/or alcohol abuse.

Additionally, the "if you hurt me then I'll hurt you worse" suggests underlying issues that have been there for a heckuva lot longer than a coupla months of CPAP. An overwhelming fear of failure causes him to destroy any positive accomplishments ("I'll get you before you have a chance to get me" (thus avoiding "failure")) also explaining the previously noted inability to establish relationships.

While the sleep histogram would have been a helpful tool to search for sleep disruption secondary to above, he needs professional counselling, but "IMHO" will not admit it (because it would be interpreted as another failure) and so he will not seek it.

Listen kid, don't wake up 30 years from now and wish you took a different path when it was available to you.

Being 26 years old myself, that 27 year old child gives well mannered people in my generation a bad reputation. It's really a shame - when I first started reading the thread I was happy to see someone "my own age" on the forum, but quickly felt embarrassed for people my age.

Don't let the age bother you. We've got a few people on here, supposedly much older and wiser, that don't behave much better.

Many times, a teenager behaves better and seems smarter than some 80-year olds. My 17-year old son would never be as rude and unkind to people as I've seen some much older people on the internet treat others.

I've come to realize that age has no bearing (sometimes) on how a person behaves - especially when hiding behind the anonymous nature of the internet.

I woke up this morning full of energy. I did laundry, cleaned the apartment, dishes. Now I'm going out to run errands.
I swear I'm not trolling, I'm full of energy today. I don't know why. Straight CPAP mode, C Flex off, pressure of 8.
The LCD screen says AHI is 0.0.

You gotta love the irony, it was Dori who first suggested I try straight CPAP mode. I did for a couple days, but with bad results. My pressure
was 9, then 7. But a pressure of 8 is working well for some reason.

I swear upon Amadeus' grave I'm not making this up. I'm gonna milk this energy for all its worth.
The thing is, I can only hope and pray that this is not a one day fluke. I'd hate to wake up tomorrow and be right
back to being groggy tired exhausted etc. I've done more this morning than I've done all week. I really don't know why.
Having said all that, in the past my apnea seemed to occur in cycles. I would have a bad month, then the next month or so
I'd have normal energy, etc. I don't know if I'm just in one of those cycles or whether the straight CPAP pressure of 8
has helped. And for it to happen now, it's just weird. Anyway I'm gonna go do something productive while I still have energy.
Honest to God I'm not making this up or trolling anyone. I woke up refreshed today. May I have many more days like this.
I might just be alright with this whole CPAP thing.

You and me clearly don't like each other, but kudos for the screen name, I like it.
About drug and alcohol abuse, I never took drugs in my life. I drink sometimes, not often.
Last night I drank half a bottle of vodka, woke up today full of energy. Go figure.
(yes half a bottle of 80 proof is a lot, but I only do that once a week or so. That's quite common for people my age,
Thirsty Thursday. Hell I have coworkers who drink liquor 4 times a week, I don't. That's not the point though, I woke up full of energy, AHI is 0.0... this is just weird.)
Normally booze makes apnea worse, but for some reason I have 0.0 on the LCD screen and full of energy today. All you can do sometimes is laugh at the absurdity of
life
