You have clearly stated that what you have done has not worked for you. You have stated that the pressure changes bother you. So, why not try ONE night without pressure changes?

Years ago, nobody had apap. They all had straight cpap. It won't kill you to try it for one night. Then you will know if that helps you, or you will have ruled something out.

But hey, only several people have suggested it. Most of us have struggled with adjustments to cpap. We understand that is if difficult. We also know that in order to succeed, we need to be proactive and try things even when we aren't looking forward to it.
You're not a very good listener. You should work on that. I did not say that pressure changes bother me. I never said that.
However, I lowered the range from 4-20 cm H20 to 6-10 cm H20 because people on here suggested that might help. It has not helped.

I may try straight CPAP mode next week. I don't think it's going to help, but I may try it for one night. Right now it's too soon.

So you've insulted Guest(who I'm pretty sure is truly an expert in cpap therapy), Zoo, who isn't a good listener but has become an active and successful participant in our forum, and little old me who's a nobody and has no credibility. I was willing to go along with your "sleep deprivation" act while still offering to help with my "limited experience", but your rudeness and lack of respect is another story. Bye!

Good riddance to you. Now I can sleep better. I'm here for advice from people who actually use xPAP.
You knowing about it because your husband uses it is like me being an expert in physics if I date a scientist.

My dear husband is a disabled war veteran who would have no way to access or use his equipment if I were not his loving and able caregiver. He probably wouldn't be here. So not only was my education more difficult to obtain (although quite successfully), but I also have the added knowledge of actually being able to observe him sleeping which gives me a certain understanding and expertise that others lack. You know, I'm actually enjoying this, it's the first time anybody has ever said "good riddance" to me! Now I feel like I really belong to the club! It's certainly a change from being called the "Mama Bear" or giving "time outs"!

Dude! You came here for help.....people here have tried to advise you. You worry about getting unqualified advice on an internet forum?!?!?!? You can't even be bothered to see a real doctor about your apnea. If you are worried about the advice you are getting, then see a doctor. You have completely disrespected a member of this forum who does know what she is talking about. I am not trying to encourage you to stick with your therapy. In fact, I personally think you should just go ahead and quit. Do it. Do the decent people on this forum a favor, go complain and disrespect people somewhere else. I think you are either an internet troll just trying to stir up sh*#, or you are a total D-Bag who needs to see a real doctor and stop expecting overnight miracle solutions from strangers on the internet. Jeez dude, go away.

Dori has the most challenging job of all. It's far easier to tweak your own therapy, as you have your own experiences to guide you. It's far more challenging to tweak someone else's therapy based only on subtle clues. Furthermore, Dori has learned a ton about CPAP and has as much to offer as any seasoned CPAP user.

I encouraged you to post your data so that you could get help, because I assumed you wanted to help for your complaint of EDS (which was probably a mistaken assumption). If you don't want to make another change too soon, you could say so in a respectful way that shows appreciation for those that have offered you help.

He didn't come here for help. He came here to be told that he's so special that xPAP isn't good enough for him.

I already said I might try the straight CPAP pressure soon. Relax people!
What if I choose a pressure of 8 and that doesn't help? then what? Go to 9? 10? 11?
Go back to APAP mode?

Tell you what, starting tonight I'm gonna use straight CPAP mode, pressure of 9.
I'll let you know how I feel tomorrow. If I still feel exhausted, then I don't know what's left to change anymore.
I'm making a good faith effort to listen to your recommendation so I hope you were right, but if it doesn't help
then you can't blame me for complaining

You also can't blame the people around here if what they recommend that you try doesn't magically and instantly fix all your problems. This is a group of well-intentioned volunteers, mostly with practical experience, and from what I'm reading, I think that you need to be working with a sleep doctor on your problems. There could well be multiple problems going on that are complicating your situation and making a quick internet diagnosis virtually impossible, or at least not very useful.

I wish you luck, and really think that you should be working with a sleep doctor to get going in the right direction. Right now, you're just trying things, it would be good to see if there wasn't more guidance that you could get from experienced professionals. This is a good place to get advice on tuning things, but it doesn't appear to me that you're at that point yet.

My constant fatigue does not allow me to work much. I have no health insurance and very little money to spend out of pocket.
My sleep study was done at home because I could not afford an in-lab sleep study without insurance

My sleep can be fragmented sometimes. Sometimes the hose gets in the way... sometimes the mask leaks or gets loose because I was sleeping on my side (I'm an active sleeper, I don't just stay perfectly still, I change positions. It's always been this way.) Sometimes water forms in the mask. Sometimes my nose gets congested from the air, regardless of the heated humidifier pressure. So yes my sleep can be fragmented sometimes.
Even without a CPAP my sleep can be fragmented (using the bathroom, being awoken by a noise, having a sore arm, etc) I don't want to use a sleeping pill because
I read that they can make apnea worse. Some people are light sleepers, I think I'm one of those. I'm not the type to just be in deep sleep oblivious to the world for hours and hours. Never have been. A lot of people are like that though.

Thanks Pugsy! You're very helpful. You're not like some people on this forum who yell at me for not trying every one of their suggestions immediately
