Hi all,
I'm very grateful for this forum. I don't have good insurance and am trying to save myself. This place is an invaluable resource!
I already got a CPAP machine and am planning to sleep with it to gather some data. Before I do that, I want to make sure I'm getting enough oxygen with the mask on and the machine running at the lowest pressure setting.
What pulse oximeters work well with SleepyHead? I know the CMS-50D Plus works, but I can shell out a few more bucks for additional features.
Would the CMS-50EW work? It's bluetooth compatible.
What about the CMS-50H? It also has the perfusion index capability.
How valuable is the perfusion index capability? What can it be an indicator of?
Thanks for the help!

What pulse oximeters work with SleepyHead?
Re: What pulse oximeters work with SleepyHead?
I have several oximeters, CMS-50F, CMS-60D and Choice MD300W. But all I ever use is the CMS-50D+. It's very comfortable to wear and does the job very well. It works great with Sleepyhead. I describe how to use it in this thread: viewtopic/t83370/Where-does-S9-VPAP-get-timeofday.html
After a while, you will probably only be doing spotchecks. When your rechargable oximeter has been in a drawer for a few months, you'll find that the battery has discharged and is dead. Then you need a new oximeter. With the CMS-50D+ you just pull out a new pair of AAA's and your back in action.
The CMS-50D+ also has a perfusion index scale, it's just a sliding scale that goes up and down with each heartbeat. How far up it goes shows how strong the bloodflow in the finger is and how good "signal" the oximeter is reading.
If I was starting out fresh now, I'd get a CMS-50D+ for everyday use and a CMS-60F for fun and for non CPAP use when testing myself, friends and familymembers for sleepapnea.
