I notice when I look at the graphs from ResScan and SleepyHead they have the correct date and time-of-day, while the graphs from my CMS-50D Pulse Oximeter just starts as 00:00. So I assume the ResMed VPAP Auto S9 is somehow putting the correct date and time-of-day in its data. I don't see any provisions for entering date and time-of-day on the various menus in the S9. I've unplugged it when traveling, and it still sets the date and time correctly. What am I missing?
Also, is there any way to enter the time-of-day in the CMS-50D software so the graphs show real time? That would make comparing them to the VPAP graphs much easier.
Where does S9 VPAP get time-of-day?

Re: Where does S9 VPAP get time-of-day?
Th S9 has a clock setting in the clinical menu. Once that is set appropriately there is an internal battery that will run the clock in the event the machine doesn't have electric power. It doesn't know about DST though...clock has to be adjusted manually and it is advisable to do it after the machine's clock has passed 12 PM...Noon.
SleepyHead pulls the clock time from the machine's recordings on the SD card.
I will have to let someone more familiar with the pulse oximeter tell you what to do about that time setting and syncing it with the S9.

Once you have your oximeter set up and working with your PC, here is how to get the data into Sleepyhead:wardmiller wrote:I notice when I look at the graphs from ResScan and SleepyHead they have the correct date and time-of-day, while the graphs from my CMS-50D Pulse Oximeter just starts as 00:00. First thing to do is to make sure that you start and stop both your CPAP machine and oximeter recording at excactly the same time.
1. Download your CPAP data to sleepyhead, go to the dayly tab and make sure todays data is selected and the graphs showing.
2. Connect your oximeter to your PC, put it on your finger and turn it on. Longpress the button once, so that the menu is shown.
3. In Sleepyhead, go to the oximetry tab and click on the Serial Import button. After a little while Sleepyhead will automatically connect to the oximeter and download the data, when it is finished it will show the SPO2 and pulserate graphs. When they are shown, click on the diskette button next to the "Open Spo/R file" botton and confirm that you want to save the data. Sleepyhead will now automatically syncronise the data with the timestamps in your active CPAPA data session, so don't do anything other than save the oximetry session.
4. When the data is saved the oximetry window goes emty. Now go back to your Dayly tab again, click on any other day, then click on todays date again, to refresh the data. Now your oximetry data will be visible togeather with your CPAP data. If not, check your event flags on the lower right hand side of the graph window to se if the graphs are there, click them if they are red. If the graphs is still not showing, go to the file menu, choose Preferences and check the Graphs tab, check to see that SPO2 and pulserate is activated.
Now you should get wonderful reports such as this one I got from last night:

Re: Where does S9 VPAP get time-of-day?
Thanks, Pugsy, for the info on S9's internal clock. I figured out how to get to the two different "private" menus, but I was scanning them for technical data and completely overlook the Date and Time entries. I won't worry about daylight savings time. If the time is within an hour, that's accurate enough for me.
And thanks to Burkebang for those SleepHead details. I'll experiment with it as soon as I get a minute or three.
For the record, I've been using the Mirage Quattro full-face mask since 9/11/12 and have slept through the night several times without waking. Most nights have been excellent after the first three or so. I've read "Taming the Mirage Quattro" and have found it useful. But last night was a night from hell. I woke about 3 a.m. with major leaks. Fiddled with it, adjusted it, moved it, released all straps and nose adjustment, and started over, repeated, everything I knew, for an hour. It just kept blowing out the seals, or just having tiny leaks, but nothing I could do would eliminate them. At 4 a.m. I finally gave up, turned the S9 off and removed the mask. The first time I've done that. Finally got back to sleep, and slept 45 minutes past my usual wake-up time. My Home Care Company therapist is coming Thursday and I intend to explore this problem in detail with him.
