That's what I was thinking. It won't hurt to try the F&P 432. If it's better, I can keep it. If not, then I can stick with the ComfortGel Blue FFM... and even work with the Swift FX I have on the backburner. So, I'm actually ahead of the game a bit now. If the F&P advances my comfort and sleep, while minimizing leaks, I'm even better off. If not, no harm done. I'll test the F&P over the weekend... then return what I am not using (for certain, the Mirage Quattro is going back) first of the week. THANKS!5thumbs wrote:You saw improvement with the Confort Gel over the Quattro on the 1st night. You have the F&P in hand so maybe try it over the weekend and see if there is same/better/worse results. It should not take long to make that determination since it looks like the Comfort Gel had such a "quick" improvement. Then return everything you are not using and know that you made the best decision you could have. Looks like you have cracked the situation!

UPDATE:5thumbs wrote:suggestion for when you go back to the DME today
1. I know the Quattro doesnt work, take it back
2. Please fit me with these two new masks under pressure in your office. That way I can focus on the mask that is capable of holding pressure and you could potentially save me weeks of evaluation if the mask leaks from the get go.
3. Please order a Liberty or xxyyzz brand hybrid mask. If either of these two full face masks dont work, that will be the next step. IF they do work, I also plan to get a hybrid mask once my insurance permits (of course dont say this unless it is true).
Dont mean to be pushy, but my friend, you sound exhausted and you need some relief. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
1) Took the Mirage Quattro back to the DME.
2) I tried the ComfortGel and F&P 432 masks. The ComforGel Blue FFM has a lower leak rate, but still leaks some. The F&P 432 didn't work at all -- very high leak rate.
3) The DME got a Mirage Liberty for me -- picked it up this morning.
4) I have been using the Swift FX, using an ace bandage around my head ( ) and taping my mouth shut. The Swift FX has had lowest leak rate of all -- well, not having tried the Liberty, it's the lowest so far. Picked up a chin strap this morning, so the Swift FX should be a more comfortable experience.
5) I'll try the Mirage Liberty starting tonight... and update again soon -- hopefully with a "success message" and the final update.

Re: Can Data Tell If I Have a Mask Problem?
Are you -needing- to tape? Have you done any nights with just the chin strap and not taping to compare with chin strap plus taping? I'm curious how much the leaks differ. If you aren't going wide-open mouth breathing with just the chin strap, that might be more comfortable, and still give you good therapy, even if you are getting -some- leakage.Char1ieJ wrote: 4) I have been using the Swift FX, using an ace bandage around my head ( ) and taping my mouth shut.
