Flu shot time again
Re: Flu shot time again
I get the flu shot every year. One year I got the flu anyway. Then I got pnuemonia. Pretty awful. DH wanted to take me to the ER the Friday night after Christmas Day and I told him I'd rather die at home--I meant it!!! Ugh!
That year the flu shot just didn't cover all the flu strains running around--the shot did not cause the flu. After that experience, I'm going to take every precaution to avoid the flu, including taking my flu shots religiously.

I have the scar but never got the vaccine. In the early 60's they were still required by law but our doctor thought they were no longer necessary. So he made the scar and signed the paper, but never gave us the vaccine.

I've taken micro, I know how viruses operate. Too bad we don't know enough about how heavy metals operate on a cellular level. I do appreciate you volunteering to be a test subject though. Someone has to do it.archangle wrote:The flu mist is a real live, but weakened virus. We just don't know all the risks of injecting ourselves with aluminum and adjuvants every year for decades and my kids and I are not going to be the guinea pig.
As for aluminum and adjuvants vs. no vaccine, you can bet your bottom dollar that the risk of the vaccine is not 1/10 of 1% of the risk having some full strength wild virus run through your body, injecting its DNA into the nucleus of your cells, mixing its DNA with yours, and attempting to take over the reproductive and biological machinery of your cells.

Ask the antivaccine person with a unvaccinated child or parent who died from a preventable illness what they think about your speculative fearmongering.opticalpopsicle wrote:I've taken micro, I know how viruses operate. Bons, WOW! I'm very surprised that your doctor did that! And, all that pain for nothing! lolBons wrote:BlackSpinner wrote:Yes, and it was done in school where I was, with everyone watching you in line. I still have the scars on my upper arms.brucifer wrote:

Anyway, I got my flu shot today. I've supposedly covered until mid-June.

Re: Flu shot time again
There were babies that died here last month due to idiots who didn't vaccinate their kids for whooping cough. The babies were too young for vaccination but would have been safe if idiots would keep the herd immunity alive and we wouldn't have had the epidemic.opticalpopsicle wrote:Ooooh...you got me good on that one! Re: Flu shot time again
I got my flu shot yesterday and I hardly even felt the needle.
No soreness today at all.
I get my flu shot every year, and I highly recommend doing so.

Color me an "idiot" then I guess. I don't get a flu vaccine. My wife doesn't either. We do not vaccinate our son. As far as the supposed whooping cough "epidemic", most of those people HAD BEEN vaccinated. My son is not a science experiment. Unfortunately, I live in WV which is one of only two states in the country that do not allow for a religious/moral exemption from vaccines. I often wonder since everyone wants to say we should force vaccines on our children, why don't we hear an outcry for teachers or anyone else that is around children all the time? In fact, why aren't all parents required to get vaccines since they are around children all the time? As far as herd immunity...meh. Here's a good article about that: http://www.vaccinationcouncil.org/2012/ ... -blaylock/

Re: Flu shot time again
Yep biggest idiot around. Yes it needs booster shots, big fucking deal! There would not have been a death if the disease hadn't found kids of idiots to feed of off. I would champion the "Darwinian award " for you if you weren't putting all the babies and people with compromised immune systems around you at risk. It is through herd immunity that we were able to control and do away with small pox. Yes you go ahead and align yourself with the Taliban who also don't want their children vaccinated.grillhead wrote:Color me an "idiot" then I guess. I don't get a flu vaccine. My wife doesn't either. Re: Flu shot time again
Not getting a flu shot. I get them for my kids and my husband gets one but the last time I did, it put me in bed for 2 days. I had fever, chills, aches, pains...I had the flu and I got it from the shot. No thanks.
Re: Flu shot time again
I respect someone's right to not get a flu shot. It's a personal choice. The effectiveness of the flu vaccine is pretty much a hit-or-miss proposition anyway. The CDC guesses each year which strain will be problematic, and they try to prepare enough vaccine to counter that strain. Sometimes they get it right, and sometimes they don't. However, the folks I get angry with are the farmers who farm swine and poultry in conditions that promote news strains of the flu that crossover into the human population.
My personal feeling is that the world is due for an influenza pandemic, and with my compromised immune system, it just makes sense for me to try to hedge my bets. The pandemic of 1919 wiped out quite a few people worldwide. Laws that seem somewhat antiquated and weird now were put in place back then to combat the pandemic. An example is where spitting on a sidewalk can still result in a citation or jail in some communities and states.

Yes, he is. You're experimenting on him because you want to make a point of your unscientific viewpoint despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. How will you be able to live with yourself if he dies as a result?grillhead wrote:My son is not a science experiment.
