he's fine up until he starts talking about alcoholing the turbine... that would leach lubrication out of the bearings, and likely greatly shorten its lifespan....
you know how it is, you're zooming along, hurtling down the tracks, everything's fine, and then suddenly, CURVE! DERAIL! CRASH! EXPLOSION! mass carnage, etc.
I've taken the s9's apart and gotten cigarette smell out of the silicone... and that worked. the motor bit, though.. crazytalk.

Uh yeah about the alcohol soak -- I think you may have confused your CPAP with your bong. The ONLY things my DME told me not to use were antibacterial soap and alcohol.

Re: Sour smell from ResMed - congestion
I recently had a ResMed CPAP machine replaced in June 2017, due to ramping problems. This Machine worked ok until a week ago. Then the ramping up
my needed air count of 11 was not working. I took machine in to my supplier. They said they had not heard of any of these
problems, but would send in my machine to be serviced. I then took a loaner machine ( packaged and seemed like new) home. This is when my REAL problem started. My first time using this machine ....after turning it on and placing my mask on....started smelling this burnt wood
smell....it was so strong that I had to turn off my machine and try to get my breath. I then noticed my throat also hurt.
I went to get a drink. Then, returned to bed and put machine to on and put my mask back on. AGAIN...the smell was
so bad....I suffered through as I was over tired from not having a working machine in days...and decided to continue use
for night. I awoke with further problems. Headache and nausea. Noticed I had a numerous amounts of apnea that night?
I was so concerned....spoke with my husband. So today, October 12, 2017 called my loaner medical supply office and told
them I needed to return this machine. They set an appointment for tomorrow.
I know I have been breathing some chemicals into my lungs and am going to report this to my attorney in case I have further lung problems...down the road.
Noted: My machine is ResMed Air Sense 10, AirCurve 10 Not sure these machines are safe am pursuing another machine.
