I have no objection to the bug but, as I said earlier in this thread, there are people with vision issues for whom a moving thing like that can cause problems. I can't tell you who they are but they did ask, at one time, for such moving things to be removed because of their situation.

I don't think this is a "personal" preference" thing. It is a matter of whether or not some people can look at a post with moving things there without having vison problems.

ABP is probably AdBlockPlus. A small program or add on that enables someone to disable animations on web pages.
FireFox has it available as an add on. Looks like Chrome has it also. There probably is an IE version also.
If someone has a problem with the bug crawling then they also probably have problems with websites with animations and probably should look at blocking all animations and not just Lazer's bug which is not much animation at all.

It's interesting that several of above posters who asked you to leave the bug are also on my Foe list, i.e. I regard them as bullies.

I am going to PM the Poster from Singapore, whom I also put on my Foe list b/c of you, to Invite him back b/c I miss him.

p.s.s.

1.I think that I told you that greatunclebill has that bug as an avatar in the ApneaBoard website.
2. How can I blocked it with ABP?

Very interesting.

I wonder who is the one really acting like a self appointed moderator here.

Now I'm going to the foes list

Comment,

Thanks, I just added you to my Foe list. Apperantly you belong there.

[quote="lazer"]I will follow this discussion and poll for the next full month and you the voter(s) will determine the final decision.

Haha! I've created my first pole here! (*insert sarcasm*)

I'm wondering how you did it.
Looks like what we call a german cockroach

I swatted my monitor the first couple of times I saw it
I was bout to pull put my 12 gauge with a turkey load when I figured out someone was just pulling my cpap hose
The bug was virtual, it wasn't a real bug
I was relieved
Anyone who has fired a 12 gauge turkey load would know why

I've named the bug

In truth, I hate that bug because it drives me insane. But this is a public forum and lazer is entitled to have that bug on his page as much as I am entitled to hate it! If I don't want to see it, I can leave the forum, put him on my foe list - or, and this is my choice -- ignore it, cuss at it when it "gets" me, then chuckle over it, but not make a big issue of it.

And for those that really can't handle it because of medical issues, I would suggest putting him on your foe list so that you don't have to deal with it.

If someone walked up to me in the grocery store and demanded I stop wearing my perfume because they were allergic, I'd tell them to bug off (no pun intended). I'm sorry that they are allergic, but they have no right to tell me NOT to wear the fragrance in a public place. It would be their problem that they would have to solve.

Same thing here -- I don't like the bug, but it's my problem, not lazer's.

Please don't remove me.

Oh, wait, you mean the little crawling bug next to your posts? That's entirely up to you, I reckon, just as Madalot said.

But if you want my opinion, I think you should only have it up on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and maybe half a day on Saturdays, please, and take it down the rest of the time, if that isn't too much trouble.

And remind me never to have cereal over at avi's place.

Mr Avi, Just to clear the record. I contacted Caroline with concern on why another member (I actually presumed you to be a moderator at the time) had chosen to REMOVE my post(s) just because they were troubled by a graphic in my signature line. I didn't think that fair. Any other forum I've been involved with, a simple WARNING PM or otherwise would always be issued before any content was removed or at the very least, afterwards in the case that I couldn't be reached in a timely manner to correct or modify the material that was offensive or otherwise went against the Terms of operation.

You take a harsh line against many folks on here. That is no secret whether you actually realize or own up to it yourself. I often questions your motives in posting so crudely to other members on here (Especially newbies) of which you clearly labeled me as in one of your former comments to the board.

I realize this and ANY open forum on the interwebs is made up of all sorts of personalities and differences of opinions that sometimes clash. I'm 100% positive I've been guilty of stirring up shit in the past myself, although when I do it it is either in response to being targeted already OR in fun loving humor which at times admittedly I get carried away with.

But back to your response here. You seem to point the finger at Pugsy all to often and focus blame on her. I can only imagine that you must be somehow jealous of her in being a key player on this board in providing so many people with help and that must somehow conflict with your objectives while all to confusing of wanting to fill that role. Again, only a guess here on my part but it is becoming rather obvious.

I think you need to step back from the keyboard sometimes and use your head a bit better before you lash out at people because again, whether you realize it or not, you are quick to pick fights and stir up discontent amongst the members here.

PS: I've ordered the "Bella Loops" Swift FX alternate headgear which goes around the ears to hold my girly nasal mask in place hopefully as a comfort feature. Feel free to rip on that to unleash some of your fury and disgust put please lay off the women on here a bit as it's getting rather old.

Oh and PSS: I miss "User from Signapore" also. Let me know if you hook up with him.

Cheers!

I don't like the bug, but once I figured out that you put it there on purpose and it wasn't some sort of hack from outside, it bothered me less.

I still find it distracting since it draws my attention away from the post I may be reading immediately below it (but I wouldn't think of making a federal case out of it...)

There are far more important issues to get bothered about.

Of all the people on the planet who could be accused of self-appointed-moderator-ish tendencies, Pugsy ain't even in the top four billion. What a laughable accusation for avi123 to make! Pugsy is by far one of the least moderatorish people posting around here.

If yer gonna pick on somebody, avi123, please pick on me instead. After all, I actually AM a little full of myself and try to have an influence on tone now and then, which would make me MUCH more guilty of self-appointed moderation. Of course, I mostly do it just to be irritating on purpose, so it's OK.

In fact, now that we're on the subject, here is my attempt right now at self-appointed moderation: DUDE! PLEASE LEAVE PUGSY ALONE!!

OK. Whew! All done now. Man, my trying to overtly moderate for that spit second in that one sentence seems to have left me all tuckered out. I hope I never try that again. Besides, not enough money in it.

I just can't help hoping that someday it will be possible to catch it.
Until then, I'm using screen wipes to clean the mucus off my monitor.

A protective coating of mucus is actually good for some monitors, though, isn't it? Oh, never mind. Maybe it'snot.

Too funny.

The bug is a non issue for me. I don't keep Lazer's posts in front of me for very long (only long enough for a quick read) and when I do have it in front of me I sort of just ignore it. I actually think it is kinda cute. It's not like it is present in every web page I view.
It's a free country and there are ways to block animation on web pages for those who have problems with animations.

I'll abstain from voting; however, one of my cats (Mindy) loves that insect. She has pawed at it a few times and studied it intensely. She explained to me that it crawls in a repetitive, sideways figure-eight pattern. She said that what bothers her most, aside from not being able to capture it, is that she cannot for the life of her determine the identity of the insect. She suspects that it is either a black ant, a wingless fly, or a cockroach nymph. If it's any consolation, the insect has provided Mindy and I good coversation and quality one-on-one time.

Mr. Avi

You should be kidding ! You can't put me in the Foe list only for a small joke like that

Remember this Mr. Avi: the rancor and unforgiveness is a poison who kills the one who keep it in his/her heart, while thinking he/her is making the other drink from it.

Be well and happy

Rosie
