The kidneys do not produce urine when you sleep. You are having too many apneas

Well I went to my doctor today, and I have to say I LOVE MY PCP I was in his office for an hour and 20 minutes dicussusing my care.

Statin Drugs?

Blood Test Vitamin D, B, & Magnesium

Well my heart and lungs sound great, EKG looked excellent, PB was 126/84, prostate was normal (OH HELLO in a high pitched voice )
I am being scheduled for a Split Sleep Study, since I work nights it takes a little extra to get setup.
He is running labs from A to Z literally, Vitamin A,B,D, calcium, magnesium, thyroid, liver panel (we discussed simvastatin and the pro's out way the cons for my situation) chem 12, CBC, NBP?, zinc, PSA, Sugar and a few others. His quote when he was done wrighting the order was WOW I just ordered a $10000.00 worth of labs . Oh well they wont like it but I dont care. I'll order another $10000.00 if I need to, to find out whats happening. See why I Love him! His overall thoughts are for some reason I have had a sudden and drastic change in pressure needs. But lets wait for the studys before we make any decisions or changes.
Well thats it for now a further follow up once we get some results, Thanks everyone for your thought and advice.

Geez, the staggering incompetence of the medical community never ceases to amaze me. All of this is absolutely classical untreated apnea.

First, they should have gotten you a data capable CPAP when you got the one you have. If they'd gotten the right one, they could just read the data and there's a good chance they'd find your problem right away and fix it.

Second, they could get a brand new, data capable CPAP for much less money than all the tests they're running, and look at a week's worth of data. They could even have rented one for a few weeks and gotten a really good idea.

Yes, a PSG sleep test may be good, but sleeping in the lab isn't the same as sleeping at home.

After checking the CPAP and fixing any problems found, you can always still do the other tests.

Greg6657 wrote:Well I had my titration today, it went about as well as can be expected. I swear after they got me all wired up I was picking up radio Tokyo anyway the tech and I discussed my paperwork and he couldn't figure out why I was started with a bipap. Once I told him I was diagnosed with Complex apnea he just smiled and said well that explains alot. My pressures were 12/5 and he said 4 years ago that was pretty common. He said since I was snoring like a freight train he wanted to up my EPAP pressure to 8 stating the standard is now no more then 4 without special circumstances. Well the first 3 hours was hit or miss as far as sleeping went, never got past stage 2 sleep before I would wake up. But the last 3 1/2 hours I slept pretty darn good. He said that my IPAP pressure was doing a good job, but at 5 my throat was collapsing causing my snoring and breathing issues which was waking me up. After 3 1/2 hours of sleep he woke me. I immediately started asking questions. What about Hypopneas, Apneas, Centrals. He just had a great big smile and said they were all "0" across the board, he considered raising the pressures to see what would happen but was convinced that it looked about as good as I could get.
He was actually pretty surprised when I told him I didnt care if I had to go to an "ASV" machine. He asked how I knew about ASV because alot of tech are just learning about them. Thats when I got to smile big and promote CPAPTALK. He had never heard of it so I invited him to join. He is a great tech and very very informative I hope he joins.
Anyway now to wait till the 10th to get my lab results.
Do I read this right? You had bad apnea with your old settings, then he upped your EPAP and your apnea readings were good?

This sort of sounds like you've possibly found your cure.

Yet another reason to get a modern fully data capable bilevel machine. They can distinguish central from obstructive. And be monitored remotely by mail with the SD card, or wirelessly through a modem.

Yes the new settings had me about as close to normal (well as normal as most people, OK, OK as normal as I have ever been )
Im not sure its the cure yet but I did get a solid 5 hours sleep today after the first two get up to pee times.
I also cant wait for the next 14 months if I can hold off that long before I get my new equipment and beleive you me it will definitly be fully data compliant, if I would have only found this site when I was first diagnosed things would have been alot different.

I'm kind of thinking with all the views on this post I'm not the only one that has this problem, Right NAN?
