So I did a little digging, and if you don't want to go to a CB shop (no idea what they charge), then it looks like a company called CarNetix makes some pretty decent DC power convertors that you can wire in yourself. They're marketed to in-car PC hobbyists, so the power will definitely be clean enough for an APAP.

According to sleeprestfully.com (couldn't find it on our host), the DS560's PSU is rated at 80watts or 6.7amps. The DS550, on the other hand is rated at 60watts or 5.0amps.

The model 1290 is a 90w max unit, but only 70w are available on the 12v rail. It retails at $95 and supports the DS550's 60w max draw with room to spare.

The model 2140 is a 185w max unit with 130w on the main rail. It also has a nifty USB monitoring app that shows you what's going on with your vehicle's power. It retails at $150.

Let us geeks know how you end up wiring things...
When in doubt, open the case. Remember: If you can't open it, you don't own it!

Prescribed APAP range - 6-10 cm/H2O, titrated at 8.
Current range - 9.0-11.5 cm/H2O - still searching for the magic "zero night" but averaging 2.2 AHI

I wouldn't worry about the truck running but that IS me - I like living on the edge

BUT you should prob use their DC cord if you do as me thinks that IS why they put the filters on the cord, for any noise coming in from the engine. But today's engines have plenty of computers already attch'd the them. So I think you'll be fine.

Betcha .25 cents

Sweet Dreams.

Best of luck. Let us know how it works out.

Be REALLY sure you can't knock it over and that you take the water tank out before you start moving.

Not sure what happened ...

I went to bed about 10 local time, I had a hard time falling asleep ... But woke up with a dry mouth and reached over and turned the humidifier up a notch to 3, then dozed off ... Got up at a little passed 1 and noticed it was at 7.? Went pee, and noticed the windows all covered with moisture, and since it had cooled off to 76, I opened the windows and turned off the truck (I sleep better with the truck turned off)

Woke up again around 3, and it was running at 7.? My face was a little sore so I took the mask off, went pee and crawled back to bed without it.

Woke up a little after 4 and checked the inboard info, and it did not show any data, and the total machine hours only went up to 30.0 ???

I did notice that it looks like somebody used a silver paint pen on the sd card, so not sure if that is any good or not ... I know it was blow in my face all the time I had it on for over 5 hours!

I gotta get driving!

Check the hours of use again later. It doesn't totally update on the LCD until noon GMT time on the little internal clock in the machine. It will update the SD card within a few seconds of turning the machine off but the on screen data it waits until noon GMT time.

Good morning Driver.

Hubbs was out male bonding last night, and I thought, "Awesome! More time on the internet!" Alot of that time was spent on Cpaptalk.com.
I was looking at different websites that I could possibly get three mouthpiece cushions (small) for my Hybrid, but to no avail. However, I stumbled upon on a website that made me think of you.
It is a website whose target audience is truckers. Check it out. Looks like they have good information.

OK, my laptop can't find the sd card, but APAP recognizes there is a card, but it is 0% available, probably need a new sd card, I have a few at home ...

Machine now says: (before was all 0's except total machine hrs)
Therapy hrs 7 day average 0.54
Blower total 30.0
Days >4: 1
Large leak 7 day avg: 0%
AHI 7 day avg: 14.3
Periodic breathing 7 day avg: 1%
90% pressure 7 day avg : 10.0
Machine total hrs: 30.0

Still weird about the total hrs ...

Did you by any chance think to reset the machine data to zero so that prior users numbers don't show up in your reports?

Might want to do that now. It won't alter total machine hours though. It will reset therapy hours and take out any prior user's data from totals. Unsure why it still has not updated on the LCD screen to include your 5 hours last night unless you happen to have a machine that has a clock (a few of the older PR S1 machines did) and that clock still hasn't reach Noon. 98% of the PR S 1 machines have no clock on the machine and rely on GMT time to start a new day. Check the LCD screen this afternoon and see if it changes.

Toss the SD card that came with it. Sounds like it is not working properly. With no more than 30 hours on the machine it should still show 100% available because it takes quite a while for the files to use up the space. The files are really quite small.

Scroll through all the options in the therapy menu and make sure that there isn't a setting for off setting GMT time. On a very few of these machines there was such an option. I have seen it in some of the manuals but of the 4 PR S1 machines I have seen hands on...none of the have it and for sure the latest don't. It would be the very last option if it is there.

I was thinking this very thing.

Also, regarding the SDcard. Have you tried to re-format it with your laptop? Then give it another try in the machine? (just a thought)

This number may or may not be correct.
Could include prior user numbers if prior user used the machine within the last 7 days.
Probably they didn't but if the machine is basing AHI on the short hours of sleep that it is reporting on the LCD screen it could be falsely elevated due to short hours. In other words until the machine recognizes the 5 hours of sleep I wouldn't get too excited about an AHI of 14. If you had a bunch of false positives get scored in the first 30 minutes it would greatly impact the AHI for a 2 hour reporting period.

When we can actually see the software reports we will have a better idea what is going on. If it is accurate over 5 hours...then the minimum pressure is too low.

Voltage could be an issue, as in too much or not enough. But lets not forget to check the current rating as well. No sense in using an
adapter thats regulated to 900 milli amps to power something that requires 1.1 amps to work correctly. Just my two cents.

Old numbers, when I got the machine were all 0's except total hrs... However ... A 7 day avg of only one day is gonna be off a bit ... I'll check the other stuff in a bit, I'm at the terminal ... And the shop is busy with my truck

It was plugged into a 300 watt power invertor, plenty of power
