Abby, I have been lurking for the past month and posted a few times but I never skipped a day without checking out your post. It took a lot for a newbie to start this thread. I know I couldn't do it, I applaude you. You have my highest praise. I have only had my CPAP for 2 days and getting used to it and maybe I will be comfortable enough to post a picture. Good luck with the job. If you don't get it they don't know what they are losing out on.
Getting my CPAP machine was the best thing ever. I call her my BFF.

A guess:

I assume noname may have meant that the expression on your face and posts reminded her a bit of that call-it-like-she-saw-it, matter-of-fact, but with a knowing grin and twinkle in her eye, expression that Ms. Barr was so known for, and so loved for, early in her career.

I don't think anyone could see any actual physical resemblance. I know I don't, anyway.

Then again, who knows what anyone actually means in a public forum, right?

Sweetie, you are a total failure at being ugly, even with the mask on!

And uh, there is no universe where you look in any way like Roseanne Barr. Perhaps someone got celebrity names confused.

But! While I was looking at your lovely (!) self, I noticed there is quite a bit of condensation in your hose. Has that been bugging you at all? We have the same machine, and tiny water droplets ("rain out," as we call it) drove me insane until I got the climateline tubing AND a hose cover on my short hose. If it's not a problem for you, no big. But if it is, it is totally fixable!

xoxo

NeNeen, I wish you much success and thank you for the kind words! It's STILL a struggle trying to get past the claustrophobia and the CPAP masks, but it is what it is. You find a way around things or you don't, and I've never been a loser. You'll get through it if you want to bad enough. End of story. Sending e-hugs your way!

Eh, the person isn't wrong, I was just messing with them. I can't argue that if it weren't for hair color, eye color and about 100lbs, we DO kinda' sorta' look alike. LOL Touche' and well played!

Napster, I had just washed it so it had water in it. Thankfully I have the Climate Control ResMed hose so it burns off all that nasty condensation so far!! I guess I'll find out how well in the winter months. I'm told that's when it's at it's worst anyway! Mine is just wet cuz I gave it a bath.

I think we need more mask pictures up in this joint!! Who's next?? *WEG*

Ok, so I am now going to demonstrate I'm senior citizen-eligible. When I saw your self-portrait, I instantly recalled a TV favorite of a few! decades ago: Diana Rigg as Emma Peel (1965-1968) on TV's Avengers. I have no idea how much artificial accoutrements she needed to look like she did, but in my mind you could pass for her without much problem. Enjoy.

Rusty, DUDE! I think I ran into a guy that looked exactly like you, and dressed just like that, in a dark alley once!

Niiiiiice.

As they say in a deadpan voice at Warehouse 13: "No, that's not creepy at all."

PS- Napster, THANK YOU!!! You totally rock girlfriend! *le smooch*

Chearyshe, you're a whole lot of awesome, you know that.... right? You crack me up little lady!

RustyBucket, you go on with your bad self!! Whoo hoo!!! You know, for a full face mask, yours doesn't look any more scary than my Mirage FX for her is. Most of the full face ones are HUGE!!! I dig your glasses too! Rock on, Bubba!

JNK, I thought I was the only one that loved Warehouse 13. I miss it and sure wish they'd finished the series. Boocakes. :'(

n0hardmask, I had to look up Dianna Rigg to see who you're talking about. She could pass for a few of my cousins. Whoa! <hugs>

SleepingUgly, sadly... no. Duty called today. I had to run my guy to the airport at 4am, which meant we had to be up at 3am just to make it there on time. I then went over to my old house to begin cleaning it up so it can be put on the market. I just walked back in the door and I'm desperately in need of a shower. I'll head over tomorrow morning though. So far I haven't heard anything else out of the CPAP.com folks though. I'll keep you guys posted if I do!!

I hope all of you are having a fantastic day! It's going to be hard to top RustyBucket's picture... but I triple dog dare one of you to try!

Reminds me that I haven't seen any recent posts about BREATHIE The Little CPAP, by Jose a.k.a. Cpapman11. He is a cartoonist in Louisiana. Earl

Big time NOOB in the house!! I was directed here by Angela (many thanks)... about to start my CPAP journey. I didn't even fool around, during my second study, I said "full mask, let's do it". That had to be the best 6 hr sleep I've had all year, even with all of the sensors. My daughter saw the pic and thought it "looks like daddy had a heart attack". HA! This should help keep me from having one right? among other things

Thanks Angela, you're the best... Chris

Oh and I don't have any equipment (<-- easy joke, just stop) yet but my avatar shows the last sleep study done Monday 8/27. I meet with the doc on 9/10 so they can give me the low down to getting a good nights sleep... Ambien no longer has ANY effect on me at all (wth).
