M Series Plus Launch

Post by forumadmin » Wed Mar 22, 2006 12:39 pm

Howdy,

Respironics will be slowly rolling out its M Series line. The first release, the Remstar Plus M Series C-Flex CPAP Machine (with Smart Card capability), can be pre-ordered tody for shipment tomorrow.

The M Series humidifier is NOT yet available!

I will be posting more content, including videos, as the day goes on. The source for all M Series Plus developments and orders is:

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/Remsta ... chine.html

We are going to hold off on the interview until the Auto is prepping for launch because I know thats the one most of you knowledgeable users are most interested in.

Just a note to people who are interested in looking at their own data via smart card/software.

I think "compliance" (hours of use) info is essentially all the Plus machine records with its Smart Card capability. None of the juicy details like overnight AHI, apneas, hypopneas, etc.

So....people interested in really monitoring their own overnight data will probably want to wait until at least the Pro 2 is rolled out in the M series. I've heard a new version of Encore Pro will be required anyway, to read the M's Pro2 and Auto when they do finally come out.

I checked the details and it seems that there is no major improvement except the size.
I would say that M stands for "Mobile" like Pentium M.

I wonder why start selling this machine without a humidifier? What would you do if you were a new user and found out you needed one? You could use a passover or on intergraded unit, but then the advantage of a small CPAP is out the door.
