I've been there too, big guy. Sometimes they sound sincere.
The absence of any mention of cpap, health, equipment, or specific problems is a dead giveaway.
Of course, awkward grammar is a clue to a non-native speaker.
Some speech patterns point to specific foreign countries which harbor internet bottom feeders.

Your very nice welcome response was to a spammer. You got suckered in.
Once you respond..the thread is locked into the archives unless Carolyn wants to manually delete it.
If we spam delete it prior to anyone responding..the offender is gone forever.
Even though the spam is not obvious at a glance...I can see it still when I use the reply button.

They are getting more clever.
Some just hit random keys--I guess they get paid per post.
This one started out thoughtful, but, on reading it through;
--never got specific; and the language was odd--nobody talks or writes that way.
Sort of a one message fits any forum thing; maybe even a prepared script.

After a while, you can just smell 'em.

I suspect there was a link to a website buried in the user's info.

--eactly???

You can smell SPAM, fresh or day old.

If a post doesn't mention, Sleep Apnea or XPAP, and is or isn't made by a member. It's SPAM probably.

If it's just touchy feely, or not english, or doesn't make sense it's spam.

Some have the need to post on anything just to use their keyboard, so lock spam they must. I think SPAM in magnetic, it draws people in.

Usually to get advertising links up to point to their website and product. Google spiders crawl these sites and link back to what is posted thus upping their search rank in google as do the other search sites.
