Call For Feedback: CPAP Machine Features
Howdy,
If you have a few minutes, please share your thoughts: TRAVEL CPAP SURVEY
A manufacturer recently contacted us asking for feedback from people who travel with their CPAP machines. They will be using this feedback to improve travel CPAP design.
A few things to note:
* The manufacturer is not paying us to post this survey. We want to see CPAP users have more input in the design of the devices they live and breathe with. We were happy to be approached and want to support the process. So please expect to see posts like this from Johnny or I from time to time.
* The manufacturers' survey does not ask for any of your contact information. You won't be tracked. They are looking for your opinions and feedback, not your email.
Thanks for taking the time!

Ok. I'll be travelling early next month so will see how it goes. My only concern at the moment is the weight if I don't pack the machine in my luggage. I have a really bad neck and carrying anything, even my purse, can create much discomfort.

I put mine into a carryon size case w/wheels, you know like the stewardesses use for their carryons. Since medicines are also exempt from counting towards a carryon, I also put my prescription meds along with any other cpap supplies into this bag.Suzjohnson wrote:Ok. You just can't put things like a toothbrush or toothpaste (or socks, etc.) in "that bag" but can certainly have them in your purse or briefcase. Tho any paste has to be in a tube that will hold NO MORE than 3oz.
IOW - it cannot be in a family sized tube that now contains only 1oz.
Keep in mind you can always ask the airlines for assistance.

I have no doubt, how I sleep affects every waking moment.
I am making progress-NOW I remember that I can't remember

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Keep in mind you can put distilled water for use with the cpap in the carryon. You may get questions but it is considered for medical use and should be labeled. I hand labeled mine. OR you can take the easy way out and pack distilled in checked luggage. I prefer to have everything together.
OR you are permitted to carry an "empty" (water) bottle thru the check point to fill with water (from a fountain) on the other side IF you don't want to pay $4 for water to take your meds. I just put the empty bottle on the belt with everything else that will be scanned or in with the keys, etc...

Done. Interesting questions about compliance vs AHI! I'm not going to tell what I put, because I don't want to influence anyone else! It would be interesting to see the results when all is said and done, though ...
@GumbyCT - didn't know that you could carry an empty bottle - does it need to be dry and open?

That IS why I mentioned it. It needs to be empty.SleepyToo2 wrote:@GumbyCT - didn't know that you could carry an empty bottle - does it need to be dry and open?

What a simple solution! Thank you, GumbyCT. I was making it much too complicated.

Yea you don't need that silly bag they give with the machine that won't even hold a mask never mind any other supplies you will need.Suzjohnson wrote:GumbyCT wrote: I put mine into a carryon size case w/wheels, you know like the stewardesses use for their carryons.
