Is it possible that it picks the voices from the telephone which is nearby
I woke up the other night because I distinctly heard a woman's voice. FREAKED me out. My heart was beating about 100 mph. After I settled down, I figured it must have been one of those "half asleep/half awake/semi-dream state" things.

I was actually going to post here and ask about weird side effects from therapy but didn't want anyone to think I was losing my marbles.

Now that you mention this, I'm wondering.

How could it pick up from the phone when no one is ON the phone?

I wondered if any of the noises I get from mine are just me! I have a Resmed S9 and love the EPR feature. When I sometimes travel I take my old S6 with me and the constant pressure is annoying. I can't say I notice any unusual noises from mine!

I'm on my 3rd S9. Went from BiPap to S9 ST with backup, and today went S9 ASV. New machine has the owl. The previous ones did not.

You can adjust the noise by adjusting the filter. The noise appears to come from the holes they cut in the blower to balance it. They need to change that part of the design since the balance disk appears to be in the airflow.

Has anyone found a hose that fits in the air inlet of the S9 to adapt it to a standard size?

My S9 is really quiet. Sometimes I notice more noice than usual but I've never nailed down the cause. I usually clean the filter and open and close the humidifier. Most of the time, I don't even hear it.

Mine does it too. It's not all the time. It has bothered me sometimes cuz I thought it was my mask leaking. But I guess you get used to it after awhile. I wear earplugs but can still hear it but it doesn't bother me much. I am glad to hear I'm not the only one one who has experienced it. I thought I was just being over sensitive or going crazy. I have my setting on auto 8-12 with EP R of 3.

Just got my Resmed S9 last week and it makes the owl coo noise on the exhale. I brought it back and of course it didn't make the noise for them. I am just dealing with it. Seems by the previous post there is really nothing you can do about it. I love the machine otherwise.

Play around with your exhale force. I am able to eliminate the exhale sound with just a tiny change in exhale force.

I had it when I changed to a small hose - got rid of it by routing it through a dry passover humidifier - think the baffles slow down the noise.

I've had my machine for 2 months and two weeks ago the noise stared for me. It usually only happens when I wake up, not when I first start.

I just started CPAP therapy about a month ago. I have an S9 and neither my wife nor me have noticed a hooting sign. I just asked her and she said there's an occasional high pitched whistle but I think that has to do with the mask seal when the machine ramps up the pressure on a cushion that's beginning to wear. Unless someone else knows what it is that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Lol.

You are not imaging things. I and my wife hear this all the time. Some nights it bothers me others it doesn't but it seems to be always there. If someone figures it out or a fix please post. I will give a mat a try until then.
