Aloha vs Opus 360 Mask?

You an replace the black covers with pink if you need to sleep femininely. I can't see what else would change but then I may not be a "lady".

Thanks, Nat. Are the side straps more, the same, or less noticeable compared to the FX, for back or side sleeping?

Nat and Squid: What size O-rings (diameter) are you guys using on the pillows? I imagine the ring gives the pillows a little more stability than they would otherwise.

O ring size is 13/16th's outside diameter, 9/16th's inside diameter by 1/8th thick. If they have it Danco number 93.

chunky, that pink look is just for marketing.

On female sizes:
The headgear for the girls' golife is a smaller scale, as is the Swift FX (but not enough)
I understand the headgear for the Quattro FX is smaller for females.
The Swift LT is only a color change--too big for me--(the sides look a bit like the Aloha)
My face is just small enough that if 'one size fits all'--then it doesn't fit me.
Color doesn't make a difference--I like camo.
Helps me hide from predatory waterfowl.

I couldn't keep the FX on my head but this one has been secure and I haven't tightened it from the way it arrived. I don't have a huge head.....swelled head sometimes maybe.

I could see if you set it to one of the marks in the middle it could possibly move on you. By the "top slot" do you mean the what I would call the "forward slot"? Or do you mean the slot closer to the back of your head - the "back slot"?

I got the Aloha mask yesterday and I tried it last night. I much prefer the Aloha headgear. The straps are routed below the cheekbones instead of directly over them, and they come covered with soft flannel, so no need to purchase or make strap pads. And the Aloha might be a little quieter. However, the Opus pillows stay in place better, so were I choosing a new mask today, it would be a tossup between the two. Kudos to the folks at DeVilbiss for bringing to market an excellent mask.

Last night was my 12th night with the Aloha, and my first 0.00 AHI!!!

I was doing really well with the Swift FX Headgear, even better with the Swift Bella Loops, and now even better yet with the Aloha.

With the Aloha, it is so easy to put the nasal pillows back into place when necessary in the middle of the night. They can only go one way - up. The problem I had with the Swift FX and Bella, of slight but exceedingly annoying shifts to the left or right when I turn over, is gone. The physical design of the part of the headgear that holds up the nasal pillows reminds me of the scaffolding that window washers use to wash the outside of widows on upper floors of buildings. If you have ever watched one of those crews, the flimsier scaffoldings swing slightly from side to side, but the scaffoldings used on the ritzier buildings are somehow designed so that they only go up and down in a straight vertical line - no sway.

In addition, there seems to be something about the design of the nasal pillows which prevents me from pushing the base part up into my nostrils, another great improvement over the Swift.

I also agree with slarty that the straps are routed below the cheekbones instead of directly over them. I didn't quite know how to describe that, but the way he puts it is exactly right, and likely also has something to do with the excellent way that the nasal pillows are suspended.

I am sure it is only a matter of time before ResMed engineers and designers come out with either a further improved Swift Fx or Bella, or an entirely new mask, that somehow incorporates these improvements into their design.

Judging from the Aloha, it looks like maybe the xPAP companies or their supply chain affiliates have started hiring the engineers who design modern suspension bridges and brassieres!

Can you believe how good this Aloha is? You'd never know it by the looks of it. It's incredible at high pressures. you can't hear or feel a thing. I need something that doesn't touch my upper lip area, just the nostrils and the pillow adjustment for it is genius. it seals all night and I don't even wear it tight.

The pillows feel like there made out of a silicone that has a tackiness to it and it sticks to your nostrils better. The FX pillows had gotten to where the new pillows were just as mushy as the old ones you were changing out. I really like this mask.

neverbetter, what pressure are you using? Just for the benefit of people who are looking at this mask. I agree it is a terrific development!

I loved the Bella Loops for the first few weeks then, one pillow or the other would almost cave in a bit on whatever side I was sleepin on. The FX kept slipping up to my eyes because it sits so high on the cheeks. I am thrilled so far with the Aloha, the pillows feel great, and they base of them is more firm and the bridge type suspension keeps them off my upper lip so if I move they STAY PUT. I find it to be very quiet and light, so much so that being a tummy sleeper I buried my head in the pillow not for long though! Love the design and the materials.
