Please forgive me for not posting sooner, extremely exhausted as I spend most of the day with Mike in rehab. I hope you all know how much these notes and private messages mean to me, they're lifting my spirits when I thought I had no spirit left. I'm feeling a bit of encouragement today as I see Mike responding somewhat to physical therapy. He was more alert today and ate very well. There's no definite answer to exactly what happened to him and why he became semi-conscious but we'll possibly know more on 3/13 when we'll have a conference with all the doctors and staff and get some sort of diagnosis and prognosis, I hope. I'm also making some contacts for daily home care in the event he progresses enough to get him home. This is taking a tremendous toll on me and I've needed some medical attention myself and now take some anti-anxiety meds. So thanks for letting me share my troubles here, we really are a family and this thread proves it. I'll try to keep in touch when I can. Thank you Madalot for taking me under your wing, you're pretty special!

Dori,

Thoughts and prayers to you and Mike, both.

Take care of yourself, 'cause if you don't, you can't take care of Mike!

You are both special people.

DoriC,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Mike. And though I have never personally met either of you, I can see him from the love in your eyes, the gentleness of your spirit, and the depth of devotion in your heart. He is so blessed to have you, and you him. Your love for each other is undeniable, complete, and timeless.

May God's healing hand, comforting embrace, and love surround you and Mike. May you also be blessed with many more years with lasting memories and precious time together.

John

Dori, I'm glad to hear that Mike is recovering. Getting all the doctors in one room (or call?) at the same time sounds like an excellent idea. Will you be present as well?

Do take care of yourself. What you do for Mike is wonderful, but I know how easy it is to run oneself into the ground supporting an ailing loved one.

Please don't feel any pressure to post, but I'm glad you did. But please don't feel you need to. I am so concerned about you (and naturally Mike).

We just want you to know we are thinking about you and that you are so loved here.

If you need anything, just say the word, k?

Oh -- my thanks to all that posted for stepping up so fast and offering up support for our dear Dori.

Post removed at Dori's request. No offense intended. No actual need to change the thread title, either. What I said was all true, and the humor in it was regarding my reaction to the title.

Dori, if my words upset you, I apologize. I would never deliberately hurt you. I didn't mean them however you thought I meant them, and honestly, I don't know what you thought I meant, but I know you're under great stress, and you get a pass.

Anyone wanting to play games by twisting my words does not.

Otter, that's not really very funny all things considered... are you sure you want to leave it here?

I changed the original subject line to say "Keep" vs "Remember"

I'm not sure it was necessary, but I did it.
