I am with you on this one. I often have to tell people that those SleepyHead leak graphs aren't nearly as bad as they look because of the scale involved.
My Encore Pro was set to show unintentional leaks on those previous examples and SleepyHead is shows Total leak.
I can set Pro to show Total leak if I wanted to.
Due to scale of the graphs SleepyHead makes mountains out of mole hills in that leak line.
People need to realize that they should look at the scale number. If the maximum leak was 35 L/min...the rest of the graph will often look like mountain climbing because they are zoomed in so close in scale. In reality if looking from afar at less scale those line are quite smooth.
Here's a SleepyHead leak that looks a bit impressive at a first glance.
Same leak using Encore Pro Total Leak which is what SH shows
And same leak using Encore Pro Unintentional leak showing option.
So at first glance SH leak might look a bit scary but in reality the highest the leak ever reached was 47 L/min...well below large leak territory of around 85 to 90 L/min.
But SleepyHead starts the scale at 50 L/min so the viewing is zoomed in so much more detail is seen. It looks much more impressive than it really is.
Now this leak line below is pretty darn ugly. I think it was the first night I tried the new Bella Loops for my Swift FX and didn't have it adjusted well.
SleepyHead....maximum leak reached was 61 L/min...getting awful close to the 90 L/min I try to avoid at all costs but I didn't reach large leak territory and Encore Pro didn't flag it as large leak. So while not the greatest of leak lines...it wasn't bad enough to impact therapy and I shrug my shoulders and move on after a chuckle.
Same report with Encore Pro set to show Unintentional leak only (and Large leak territory is around 70 L/min when we use unintentional leak reporting numbers...I have found this from past experience when I do see a large leak flag)
So the moral of this story....when looking at leak reports in SleepyHead pay attention to the maximum leak reached because that is where your scale will begin and if you don't have much leak...it likely will look more impressive than it really is.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
