That said, why use 40 Hz for the high bandpass cutoff? That setting leaves an awful lot of unnecessary junk.

Must be a "practical" reason...

...like tracking gamma frequencies, and all that TM [expletive deleted].

I wonder if there's a simple single/dual channel EEG available that doesn't filter input data..

If not, it wouldn't be hard to implement with Arduino or similar..

Well this does sound like an interesting project!

I have budgeted 30 dollars to join in the fray. It seems like it will be easy to pick up a Duemilanove for less than 10 bucks, and will keep my eye out for a Zeo for 20 (including shipping).
