Pugsy, I gave it a try but I still cannot get my card reader to be regonized. I followed your suggestions, thanks again but no success, everything is great until I try to use the reader and windows does not regonize it.
Still baffeling me as to what the problem is.

Re: Help please with card reader for Encore Pro
For those wondering...My idea was to try Pro 2.4 on the off chance that it was the old Pro version having a conflict.
I am out of ideas. So sorry.
I have a Windows 7 64 bit computer and I can use Pro 2.4 with the DT3500 and smart card.
I mention this just so others will know that it will work.

Pugsy
You gave me reason to load software that I copy down from a link that was on early in the year.
The machine is a hp with win home 64 bit ver.
I pluged in the DT reader and It auto looked up the driver and loaded it
I then load EP-2 and I works like a champ. Whole deal did not take more than 30-45 min
Thanks for the info.

Re: Help please with card reader for Encore Pro - success!
Update on my quest to once again view my data . I finally was able to get a computer to recognize my Infineer DT3500 card reader. I gave up trying on my Window's 7 computer and revisited my Vista computer. I had multiple attempts on that one before giving up and trying the Window's 7 Virtual XP new computer. As I said after going back to the Vista I was finally able to get it to detect the card reader upon rebooting and then as Pugsy suggested I installed Encore Pro 2 and everything was right once again. I was able to download my data after an eleven month drought.
Thank you to all who had suggestions for me, jamiswolf, moresleep, Mr Bill and Pugsy!

Dale92,
Glad your persistence paid off. Vista 32 bit I assume? This constant change in the computer industry gets wearisome. Hard to keep up...

Re: Help please with card reader for Encore Pro
I got it working on my new laptop by installing first Microsoft Virtual PC, and then into that installing the Windows XP operating system. Then install the Encore View software to that "virtual" XP system. It works perfectly now.
