I love your cat! I noticed Julie has a white cat. I, too,have a pretty orange and white tabby, with facial fur pattern much likes your cat. We got her from the shelter 2 years ago as a one year old. Wonder how it is that 3 Intelipap users have cats!. I need to put my Heidi's photo on but haven't figured out how to get the avatar thing to work. When I try it, it always says the photo too big but I don't know how to change the size.

Hi - What you need to do (cat-wise) is change the size of your picture before coming here with it (and you'll be given a chance to 'import' it when you click on 'choose' avatar or picture.... have it in an accessible program (I have a Mac so what I did is unlikely to match your options but there are many) and the program here will ask where to download it from...

That's probably not the greatest explanation but hopefully someone else will come along and help..

I assume you are on a PC so I can't help you with the picture re-sizing.... although I imagine there are a ton of web tools available for that. As for cats...... there are TONS of forum members who have cats. We've had a couple of threads over the last year devoted to them. My theory is that subconsciously, we must have envied their sleeping prowess....

I'll check on resizing my photos. I'm not the greatest at computers but should be able to figure it out. I do have a PC but when I do get another, I'm going to get a Mac. From what I hear, its the way to go.
I do envy my cat's ability to just relax and take cat naps. It is so relaxing to just watch her. She doesn't have to wear a mask!

I haven't had any errors with the smart codes on my machine. I do not have the software because this is my backup machine.

I am presently using an S9 but wiull be getting an Intellipap to use as a backup and for travel. I would like some advice on initial setup. My S9 is set @ 6.8 to 11.6 pressure. Start pressure is 4 and ramp time is 15 minutes. EPR is full @ 2. How would I start with the IP. I guess I should prepare for higer AHI's. I am usually below 1 and often @ .3 I am amazed that the FDA does not have a reg whereby all machines scored the same. Imagine a tape measure that gave you readings of 10 inches instead of 12!!! Or a blood glucose meter that read 10% off?????

There are any number of online image resizers. I used one like this to get the photo I too of my deer in my pasture small enough for forum avatar use.

Just make sure to save it to your computer. Jpeg is nice. Small file and keeps a good quality image.

Last night I used it on auto - remember, for 5 years I've been on regular CPAP, pressure of 10 for almost 2 years. Dr prescribed range of 6 - 12 but I increased lower limit to 8. The smart code report says my AHI was 2, I spent 95% with 9 pressure and had 10 exhale puffs per hour - That must be why I woke up several times feeling not so great. The other 2 nights on CPAP mode, the EPI wasn't anywhere near this high. I do wear a chinstrap and if I don't get it just right, my mouth opens. Can anyone tell me what the range of EPI should be?

Thanks Pugsy. I did it! Finally got my cat, Heidi, "avatared" Since I was able to jump through that technical hoop (big deal for me), hopefully I can move toward mastering my new IntelliPap.

I'm going through those sorts of decisions, I was on fixed 6, AHI 2.0, M Series. Now on Intellipap auto, 3.5-7.0, AHI 3.0
Im tempted to go to 6 fixed again. Im also not sure that the AHI figures between the two machines are comparable.

anyway, the general advice here is that on auto you go +- 2 from your target. that would mean 8-12 for you. though target might also mean 95 percentile on whay the auto got to. that 9 sounds like mine, from 6 to 5 on auto (on the Intellipap).

I cant comment on EPI's, out of my league. (though I caught one on awakening this week, with my lower jaw in an OMG position, at least that;s what I think it was).

FWIW I love auto as it gives me a lower pressure most of the time, except when its needed. (though Id be happier with AHI of 1.0 so I might have to compromise if I cannot tweak).

Thanks for the EPI info. Regarding AHI, on the machine, I haven't gone below 2.5. I realize that is good but during several home downloads on loaner machines (before I got the Intellipap) and another sleep study, I was averaged below 2. You;re right that comparing AHI between 2 machines might be questionable. Pressurewise, I have been using it on straight CPAP to ease my transition. Also, I have a host of other stresses that are constant (raising a teenage daughter who has autism) and could certainly affect how I sleep. I have to make sure the cpap part is working optimally or nothing is going to get better!

another thing Ive noticed on the Intellipap is that all the quickview (on lcd screen on the machine) ahi figures are so far rounded to 0.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 etc.

and the last 2 days Ive had that stupid AHI 31.5+ bug - so no data for me from there - , but unplugging the power and putting it back in doesnt work any more. I have to use the online smartcode. (a devious bug to force me to buy the smartlink software, my paranoid mind tells me?). I hope they bring out a firmware upgrade to fix this, but something tells me (my paranoid mind again) that I will need to buy the smartlink to effect the upgrade. in the words of George Carlin "they've got you by the balls".

optimal CPAP is better, but good enough CPAP is still better than nothing. Im will go back to fixed CPAP soon, as Im getting 4.0's now - but, wisely, I will wait a week or more on whatever changes I have made. the mind adjusts, either ways.

though even if nothing gets better, there's ALWAYS the attitudinal shift to any trials that life brings forth.(easy to say)
