Cpap.com ships to Canada via Canada Post - no duty or customs costs and the delivery charge is reasonable. The equipment is much more reasonably priced than here in Canada as well. You do need to have yor prescription on file with them to get machines or masks but that's no problem - as long as you have your prescription.

Between this forum and cpap.com I am doing well with my therapy. Getting any help from a provider here was practically impossible and the cost of equipmewnt was outrageous.

My extended health plan will not cover anything bought online from the US but the cost is so much less that it doesn't matter to me.
Thanks Hawthorne. Much appreciated. I do have to make a change in my cpap business. Last mask (FFM) was $350 Cdn. at Shoppers.

tschultz wrote:I've had good luck with the local office here in Cambridge for Respiratory Health Care Solutions. The local franchise owner/operator was very helpful with both the mask and machine and was supportive of my taking over my own adjustments after she got over the initial shock. I would up using a loaner S9 AutoSet for 2 months while we worked trying to get the APAP paperwork put in place and never did she push to get things resolved quickly. She also arranged to get me a shrink wrapped copy of the ResScan software from the factory rep when I requested a formal copy even though she knew I was already running the software.

In the end I was able to get the S9 AutoSet but got no help from the sleep doctor and paid for it out of pocket. My long term health was more important to me than getting the government to help pay for part of the machine if it meant getting an inferior machine. I know one of her colleagues at another branch somewhere in the area was equally helpful for another person as well. In the end I found her costs to be fair, especially knowing what we wind up paying here in Canada since companies like ResMed work very hard to protect the geographical market and the inflated prices.

I have purchased a replacement cushion for my mask from her and was equally happy with that transaction.
Thanks tshultz! That's not too far away. My sleepdoc (bless him ) wouldn't even talk bipap. autopap? Gotta be kidding. In fact except for forums I wouldn't know that either existed.

Truly impressed with the help I'm getting here. You help me more than you know!

Best

OP, have you tried FPM Solutions? They're out by Sherway Gardens.

Have you tried them? My Brother lives out that way and I was thinking of perhaps ordering from them and have him pick it up and bring it out to me the next time he and the Mrs & their son come out for a visit.

They have been very good, got me the machine I wanted and have checked in every 2 weeks since I got my machine 2 months ago.

Guest: you don't happen to work for CPAP Direct, do you?

So. Do they sell mail-order and how do their prices compare to those from CPAP.com? If you've been a walk-in customer, how is their service?
No, I don't work for them, I just hadn't registered an account yet (I didn't realize you could post here without an account).

I got my S9 Auto from CPAP Direct via walk-in (I have a script from a sleep doctor). No idea on mail-order - but they have treated me very well, spent time to show me the details of the machine and have been very good to check in to ensure compliance and comfort. So far, so good.

I just got mine from CPAPClinic.com in Concord two days ago. The are an authorized dealer out of Concord and thus you can buy from them and still be eligible for the Ministry of Health subsidy. I found a better price clinicalsleep.com out of Vancouver, but they aren't authorized by the Ontario MoH. Didn't matter as CPAPClinic.com matched their price.

I got three quotes for the following:

ResMed S9 Autoset + H5i humidifier
ClimateLine tube
ResMed Mirage SoftGel Mask
8 x ResMed S9 Hypoallergic filters (two per pack)

Here are the quotes:

Medigas: $2,348
S9: $1,885
Mask: $275
ClimateLine: $100
Filters: $88

Clinical Sleep Solutions (Vancouver): $1,466
S9: $1,195
Mask: $125
ClimateLine: $50
Filters: $96

CPAP Clinic: $1,657
S9: $1,350
Mask: $175
ClimateLine: $55
Filters: $77

All offered essentially the same service, except that Medigas claimed it offered free loaners. That being said, they charged me for my loaner while I was waiting for insurance approval. Medigas appears to mark-up their products such that the Ontario Ministry of Health ADP subsidy goes right into its pocket and doesn't benefit the consumer at all.

My insurance paid up to $2,000 and approved all three up to the limit. I went back to the CPAP Clinic and got them to match CSS and they came in at $1,450. They also sent a ResMed pillow mask for me to try out as I inquired about it. They have a fairly liberal mask trial policy to assist you in finding the mask that fits. I forget the details, but I think you can try as many masks as you like for free (except your return shipping) for the first month. It trials the machines as well, but I knew what I wanted.

And get this - Alex at the CPAPclinic.com gave me his personal cell phone number and told me to call him at home as late as 11 pm if I needed help in getting the machine adjusted properly. Try and get that level of service from anyone at Medigas.

Medigas is great for new users who need familiarization and counselling, otherwise go online and read the forums.

Sorry for reviving this thread but I too went to this place in Concord (it's actually cpapclinic.ca) - thanks to reading about them in this thread. Awesome service and I was able to price match. They also offered an s9 Autoset to me which no other DME would do. I spoke with Hubert - very nice and helpful. If you are in Toronto definitely check them out.
