Help for a newbie wanting to travel/camp with CPAP

Post by carosan » Sat Aug 06, 2011 4:28 am

Hi...hoping someone out their in "apnea" land can help with this...

I am hoping to be able to take my unit (S9 Auto set) camping (at a non-powered site) & also have a back up plan if there is a power
outage at home. I did a bit of a search on google and apart from marine batteries which would be pretty heavy to cart around, I
came across the following options. Has anyone had experience using these or can you offer any other suggestions?

CPAP Battery, Inc. http://www.cpaptravelbatterypack.com/
Super CPAP Power Packs http://www.cpapbatterystore.com/testimonials.html
Respironics Battery Pack https://www.cpap.com/cpap-battery-power ... attery.php

I live in Australia and can purchase a DC converter here but we do not seem to have as many options available as far as portable batteries go as in the U.S.
Any feedback/advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Caro

Morning Caro
I am a camper too as a matter of fact I'm headed out on Monday for the week with a group of friends. I use a 12 volt deep cycle marine battery and a modified sine wave converter......and yes it weights a lot. You can hook up the same way to your car battery if need be or you can go with smaller lithium batteries...just like a lap top battery. I bought a little trolly cart to lug my battery around from the house to the motorhome and that works great. Now I can wheel it around instead of grunt and groan when lifting it...I'm an old lady so lifting isn't so much fun
Happy sleeping and happy camping.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.
