Not really important, but did you try to update the firmware on the card reader? I recently downloaded a firmware update for my card reader from the manufacturers website. Wasn't having problems before and not having problems now, but it can be an option if you're having issues...

Thanks for the advice on updating the drivers. I just updated the Dell driver for my SD card reader (on my Latitude E6510 it was Ricoh driver - not obvious!).

Now the old problem of Resscan 3.14 not shutting down properly is fully fixed. This forum rocks!
