Our founding fathers also owned slaves and did not allow women to vote.

Should we tack amendments legalizing slavery and forbidding women to vote onto Obamacare?

I'm all for reduction of costs in healthcare... and those things come with (a) taking out private for-profit healthcare entities like insurance cos, millionaire doctors, and grubby DMEs making astounding piles of cash off of us, (b) standardization i.e. the government running things, and (c) larger pools which distribute healthcare costs more evenly by having more contributing members. I also happen to support (d) more preventative and healthy-living care, for instance obstructive sleep apnea treatment.

Of course my opinion is moot because ObamaCare isn't universal healthcare, is not government-run, is privatized, and won't have any more preventative care or reduce costs THAT much. Sigh. I wish I could stomach a move to another country with proper healthcare ideals!

You just described yourself as one of the many looking for a government to take care of them from cradle to grave; to get what you want not by working for it but by having it taken from those who did work hard for it.

But bradb I will give you a temporary break. You just started CPAP and maybe need some help to get CPAP to work properly and get back some energy. Once you get your energy back maybe you will become one of the hardworking people looking to contribute to our great nation instead of one looking for handouts.

Best of luck in becoming energetic and learning how to be truly patriotic.

Ok there shouldnt be companies that profit off of bottled water, becuase i need that before insurance. Farmers should not make profit, becuase I need food. People who produce clothes and shoes should not profit becuase I need clothing. House? yep I need shelter, so hardware stores, and tradesmans shouldnt profit. Should I keep going on things I need more then Insurance?

Ok on to insurance, what is it? A gamble, you betting against yourself needing it, Them betting against you needing it (being medical auto etc.) Docs, they spend how much on school? I think they deserve there labor costs. How much of what they charge is becuase of having all the insurance, the paperwork they are required, regulations etc. (yes they highly deserve what they make)

Healthy living, and preventative care is a good thing, but not at the tip of a roman spear.

Sounds like someone here who wants govt run healthcare may be a product of our wonderful public indoctrination centers , oh I meant public school system where kids are taught what to think instead of how to think.

Well, they certainly didn't teach him grammar and the difference between "preventive" and "preventative"...
