Resmed CSV file data

Post by Gadget_OSA » Tue Sep 14, 2010 3:25 am

Has anyone interpreted the Resmed CSV data? Some of the column lables make sense ie. #ONT - on time, #MPA - max pressure, but I'm at a loss to understand #PMM, #PM9, #PMA etc. I would appreciate any info on this. Thx.

That has not been my experience with my S7 machine. I'm running in CPAP mode with a pressure set to 9.0. My max pressure is almost always above 9.0, even when there are no leak spikes and even if I put my mask on before turning on the machine and turn off the machine before removing the mask.

My median and 95th% pressures are always 9.0, however.

Thx gvz & Loq. I note there are two sets of PMM, PM9 & PMA as well as other lables which don't make a lot of sense. I also think that only whole numbers are reported to the csv file. Thx again.

Do you have to have software to install in your computer to read the data from the card? And do you insert the card where you would put any other data card? I'm new to this and have the data card in my hands right now, but am supposed to return it to the tech to download, then they give it back to me for the next go around.

My doc is very old fashioned and looked like he was flabergasted when I mentioned I'd like to be able to obtain and interpret the data myself.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum suzzy. Your signature tag shows you use a Resmed S8 Escape CPAP. On checking the S8 specs on cpap.com I asume you would need autoscan V5.7 software installed on your PC to interpret the data from your S8 although I only noted references to usage data for the S8 Escape so it may not report data that is mentioned in other posts such as flow and leak rate etc. I understand the S8 machine uses the older Resmed S8 data card so you would also need an S8 card reader to enable you to upload the data to your PC. I'm not sure how available these are. Please note that the csv files mentioned in this thread are comma separated variable files that Rescan 3.10 / 3.11 can produce that can be processed and manipulated in a spreadsheet application such as XL.

Here is a link to a discussion on autoscan V5.7 in this forum - viewtopic/t24837/Need-help-with-Rescan-57.html

Hopefully more knowledgable forum members can provide further information on this for you. Please also continue to read the information posted here and use the search tool as there is a wealth of information on this forum and the members are extremely supportive.

The current version of ResScan (v3.11) works fine with S8 flow generators.

Cheers,

Bill

Thank you, Gadget and Bill. I was in a hurry when I posted because I thought I was going to return the data card yesterday, but as it turns out, I didn't. Anyway, the thought occurred to me after I posted, that I didn't really introduce myself at all. But I believe I saw a thread where people do so. Please forgive for jumping right in with a question.

I will read the link you posted, Gadget. I got a new nasal interface and the innards for my matching humidifier yesterday, so if it looks different, that's because it is! But the S8 is the same. I like my machine. I tried an Elite once and didn't like the change in pressure when you exhale and inhale. Simple is good, for me.

Suzzy

No apologies or introductions needed Suzzy. Some good info from Bill on being able to use Rescan 3.11 to read your data. Check this thread for a link to the Rescan 3.11 software and the clinicians manual -
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=55526&p=519656&hili ... ob#p519656
- and also some info on the ACR38 card reader needed for the data card used in the S8. /Cheers.
