OT: What does everybody do for a living?
Re: OT: What does everybody do for a living?
For the last 10 years I have worked as a videographer/video crew manager at ballroom dance competitions. Prior to that I worked for many years at a large mutual fund company as a middle manager in their retirement plan recordkeeping area.

I have been a GIS mapping technician in the county engineer's office for twenty one years.
Basically, I draw legal lots and right-of-way on a computer, one square mile at a time.
Everything we do is linked to the GPS network of monuments, which have been captured at centimeter accuracy.
We have very high standards because we are standing on the shoulders of giants.
I have just under two years to go before I qualify for Medicare--I'm 63.
I guess I'll just wait and see if it is worth waiting for.

Senior IT Administrator (from hands on to consulting) - under contract to the largest telecom corporation in the country; licensed Real Estate Broker; Small Business Management Consultant (after running 7 Bell stores for almost 25 years); Professional Photographer
Main effort directed towards IT Administration for that is my bread and butter contract just renewed for another 5 years and 'part time' effort which suits me well considering my affliction. The rest I take on as time and energy permit these days for the same reason but I prefer to be a 'busy person' and look forward with great anticipation to the day when my energy and vitality returns so that a full day or two of effort does not result in a day or two of raggedy-Anne syndrome. I have great hope that I am approaching the magic bullet and it is only a matter of weeks. (My AHI is down to <1.0 all the time and is 0.0 on many nights - and is mostly hypopnea events causing SaO2 desaturations which cause awakenings... just waiting for a pulmonologist consult and another sleep study only this time with titrated oxygen being infused into the CPAP line. I saw my records yesterday and APAP DOES make a HUGE difference in my desats and resultant awakenings from REM sleep.... but not enough due to lung damage. Thus the O2 consideration. We are also trying a major increase in pressure of some 25% and that made a difference last night... albeit a bit confusing. Only had two desats. One at 80% for ten minutes and one at 60% for about a minute or so.)

Fall colours. One of God's gifts. Life is fragile and short, savour every moment no matter what your problems may be. These stunning fall colours from my first outing after surviving a month on life support due to H1N1.

I'm a senior marketing writer for a company that produces tax and accounting software, and I'm also the managing editor of the magazine we send out to our users. Before that, I was a marketing communications specialist in the credit union industry for several years. Oh, and once 5:00 comes, I'm an aspiring chick lit novelist.

I've been an independent documentary filmmaker for many years. I've got a wall full of lots of awards for work broadcast on national PBS, BBC, and translated into many languages for distribution to other countries. They also are distributed to universities and all kinds of groups.
Still doing some of that, but now I'm getting hired to produce videos: corporate videos for on-line annual reports, promotional videos for non-profits to raise funds, family legacy videos to chronicle the family history, etc.
