I've always had problems getting enough air during exercise, from as early as I can remember from childhood.
That's because exercise, burns more fuel (Sugar) in your body, O2 is needed to burn the fuel, to get the extra O2 our lungs have to work harder to supply it. Being out of breath is our body telling us to stop doing that.

My problem is going up one flight of stairs or walking to my truck now puts me out of breath, not a fun way to live. That's why I just got a O2 meter, to see if something could be done to improve things. What it has shown me is that when I am out of breath my O2 is still about the same as when at rest (93-94) for me. So I have other problems besides O2 that causing the weakness. Probably the Insulin I take, still can't work in my cells, to allow the fuel to burn, making me weak. Jim

I read this post thinking why would someone want to do this, but then I started thinking. CPAP increases your functional residual capacity in your lungs so it expands the bases of your lungs with the positive pressure. If most of the bloodflow is in the bases of your lungs and you are getting more oxygen down to those areas that are not normally filling without the extra pressure you will be transferring more oxygen into the bloodstream. But you could generate the same pressure while pursed lip breathing while you are on the treadmill. Who knows. Give it a try and let us know how it works.
