Re: Cleaning CPAP machine
I think that the biggest problem with carbon tet is that it does a House on your liver. According to Wikipedia, "Carbon tetrachloride is one of the most potent hepatotoxins (toxic to the liver)".
When I was in the Air Force, I used to get drenched in trichloroethane and Freon while cleaning avionics equipment and antennas on aircraft, some of which used oils and hydraulic fluid that contained PCBs and other toxic chemicals. When I worked for the Bell System, I didn't get drenched in it, but I still used a lot of trichloroethane as a cleaner before it was banned.

Hello
I use a damp cloth and that has been sufficient enought.Tho i've sewn together a cover that i use on it daily.( I usually turn the machine off in the morning wait for the humidifier to cool off while i take a shower) ... I then place the cover on it and it fit's like a glove.I wonder why nobody (that i know of ) has created cover's for these machines ? I got the idea from my printer cover i figured that it keeps dust away from my printer and at the same time making it more eye appealing so why not try sewing one for my APAP,and guess what it work's even my wife was impressed, with the fit and the look's of it and it does keep dust away for sure, specially for me there has been a lot of construction around my area lately....

"She Who Must be Obeyed" has two cast iron skillets in hand now. She is now demanding a paternity test, better call Maury Povich or Jerry Springer. Run! THUNKJaylee wrote:Dad! Re: Cleaning CPAP machine
What a good idea. I travel for work almost every week. I currently cover my machine with one of the hotel towels (after removing the humidifier to prevent sloshing if jostled by housekeeping). A cover would be much better.ZQuest wrote:Hello
