I use a damp cloth.
When and if I remember to clean my mask and tubing I use Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps.

Well I just dust the actual machine the same way I dust everything else. For the tank, filter, hose and mask, I soak once a week with Dawn dish washing liquid.

clean outside with damp sponge and mild detergent, dont use spray cleaner, clean or replace air filter

you cant clean anything inside, some have cloth near filter that can be cleaned with a suction vacuum cleaner

be careful and dont get any part of it wet

I've been doing it since October and I don't think it has hurt anything yet.

I use Dawn to clean my mask and hose -- I which I do very seldom. I use rubbing alcohol to clean the outside of my machine. I have a pump sprayer that fits rubbing alcohol bottles and I use it for cleaning lots of things. I spray some alcohol on a microfiber cloth and wipe my machine down with it. Some of the things that I clean with rubbing alcohol are TV screens and cabinets, eyeglasses, computer screens, keyboards, telephones, remote controls, audio and video equipment, outside of my microwave, stainless steel appliances, and laptops.

An executive at ResMed said do not use anything except Johnson's Baby Shampoo then water rinses for the mask and tubing and humidifier chamber. For the plastic chassis, I use a spray plastic cleaner used in the computer industry.

No harsh detergents, no vinegar, , no alcohol, no Windex, no acetone, etc.

DO NOT CLEAN YOUR CPAP GEAR. It ruins the flavour.

Clearly Natural Unscented Pure and Natural Glycerine Soap. Found in a pump bottle with other hand cleaners in the super market
Method Go Naked Dish Soap - TARGET
Seventh Generation Free & Clear Dish Soap - TARGET
Purex
Ivory unscented
Dr. Bronners (health food store) totally unscented
Ivory Classic Pure liquid Soap - no scent
7th Generation unscented (for handwashing dishes)
Dove Baby Unscented Shampoo - LOBLAWS
vory Liquid Hand Soap. I have a pump by my sink, and a small squeeze bottle for my travel cleaning

I wash my mask, headgear, tubing, humidifier every weekend. I use clean up wipes (natural green sold by cpap.com) every morning to get rid of the blech and freshen up. Change the filters regularly; they are cheap. DO NOT mess with the blower. I hear of folks spraying disinfectant in and looked into various cleaning methods but I think the bottom line is that it is only fresh air that's going into and through your blower. Once out of the blower it starts to become subject to contamination and that's where you want to be cleaning on a regular basis. And getting rid of morning blech on the mask and gear. I then used the wipe to wipe down the machine itself (exterior) and dry with a tissue. So far so good. Some use vinegar or such as a disinfectant but I find that the wipes are sufficient if you wash in warm soap and water every weekend. Takes me all of five minutes.

The list of soaps above was assembled from recommendations pulled off this forum and I have been using Purex and Seventh Generation and Method - all unscented with good results. Wouldn't mind finding one that is a disinfectant soap though.. these are all pure soaps I believe. They thought I was nuts when I filled a box full of the stuff. Just told them we were a very clean family.

Keep clear of the electronics!

Thanks all for the tips.
torontoCPAPguy, the DME Lady that fit my mask told me to wash my mask and hoses once a week and she also said to wipe the mask down with baby wipes every morning. I think that it is a great Idea. She failed to mention what to wash the mask and hose with. Once again thank you.

Sorry to have to break this to you but the 'blech' is not on your mask.

Most of the cleaners used in the computer industry are nothing but 50 to 70% isopropyl alcohol and water (rubbing alcohol). Computer industry cleaners used to use carbon tetrachloride, Freon, or trichlorethylene. After these solvents were banned, they were replaced with isopropyl alcohol or Stoddard solvent. The Stoddard solvent has been largely replaced with isopropyl alcohol. There are some exotic computer industry cleaners that don't contain isopropyl alcohol, but they are not common.

Even regular Windex is almost all water with isopropyl alcohol (the MSDS says that it is 60-100% water, 1-5% isopropanol (aka isopropyl alcohol), and .10-1.0% ethyleneglycol monohexylether [with coloring and perfume].

Any of these cleaners are wicked for electronics and bearings that are not thoroughly greased and sealed. I don't have the answer to cleaning the inside of the blower itself and disinfecting thoroughly but after doing some research a few months back have come to the conclusion that (a) the inside of the blower itself is usually not needing disinfection for a single user; and (b) simple disinfectant soap for the rest of the components is sufficient under almost all conditions.

Oh. And wipe that blech off your mask and your face in the morning. (Sorry, could not resist).

I can recall the days that we used to use carbon tet before it was banned. Don't know anyone that lost any brain cells lost any brain cells lost any brain cells from inhaling the fumes. The fumes. Is that my eye twitching or yours?
