Well I can see this thread is begining to meander.

Anyone care for a beer?

Yeah, I heard that, too. Of course, when I read that it was "Touchdown Jesus" (elsewhere), my first thought were ND's campus and Rio de Janiero.

As a follower of Jesus, though, I think money can be better used to actually help people. But that's a different thread and certainly OT.

I'm on another forum that is faith-based and has one Forum Administrator. No moderators. It actually works very well. Even without delete and edit functionality. After all, we cannot retract our words when we say them. They've already escaped our mouths.

I hope, IsrvChrist, that you find the many helpful threads that ARE here and get the counsel you seek for successful CPAP therapy.

BTW, DreamStalker is there NOT a bad time for a beer?

We need a beer emoticon. There's one available for BBCode called :beer1: (seriously).

Are you an OSA sufferer? Do you use a cpap machine? If so, do you have any problems or questions regarding that? That's what we're here for, to give and receive help for this serious disease. I don't think most of us would have been successful if it weren't for the kind and knowledgeable people on this forum. Most of us are friends! Thanks to Johnny Goodman for this gift.

DoriC's right.

As I always say, "The best hard-fought experience to learn from is someone else's."

Yep. Dori is always right.

We talk about what ever anyone wants to talk about here on this forum.

If you want to talk about CPAP or your treatment issues/concerns in particular ... we can do that.

If you want to talk about religion or politics or bailouts or healthcare or oil spills ... we can do that too.

This is an equal opportunity discussion forum.

It is your choice ... with or without a beer.

Greetings to I-Srv-Christ,

I understood your name as soon as I read it. No worries here. Yes, you will find lots of acrimony here. But that's no different than going to some meeting with friends at some local restaurant. Sometimes arguments start. Mostly the forum moderators leave us alone and allow us to work things out. And they let us post links from CPAP.com .. and ANY other website if we think it is appropriate. I do so all the time.

Why do we post things from CPAP.com? Not because we work for them. Not because we get some cut. I am not aware of any such arrangements. Rather just about everyone of us have been pleased with our interactions with them. But my current xPAP unit did not come from them. Nor did any of my computer software or cables.

Nor do they freak when we post information from a competitor's site. Why? Because they actually do believe in the same approach as the "Miracle on 34th Street". If you help the customer, you gain customer loyalty:
Ignoring instructions to steer parents to goods that Macy's wants to sell, Kris tells one shopper (Thelma Ritter) to go to another store for a fire engine for her son that Macy's doesn't have. She is so impressed, she tells Julian Shellhammer (Philip Tonge), head of the toy department, that she will become a loyal customer.
That's from a story synopsis from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_on_34th_Street .

And you know what? They are both right. We often recommend CPAP.com because they actually are more concerned about our wellbeing than their profit. They understand the second will flow from our well being.

So, is it wrong that they allow a free, open, and yes, sometimes acrimonious discussion? I don't think so. Can it be frustrating at times? Sure. But that's part of being a functioning adult, learning to filter out the nonsense.

Anyway, I hope you find help here. I know I have found help. And when possible, I try to return the favor.

Best wishes!

Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human gods aim for their mark
Make everything from toy guns that spark
To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark
It’s easy to see without looking too far
That not much is really sacred

IsrvChrist wrote:Are there any moderators in this forum? There is a thread that has been going on for than a year with personal attacks on people, and attacks on other countries. I notice a TON of adds for cpap.com and kinda take that this is a forum run by then or highly sponsored by them. If this is a indication on how they do busy or things they support I have no interest in doing busy with them. I am a first time poster and new to the CPAP and was looking for a forum for help and support... Guess I haven't found it.

Edit. Sorry I looked at the join date instead of the post date. I will admit my mistake. But still.
Not really.

Yes, they sponsor the forum. Unlike the other forums who take money from the industry manufacturers and highly restrict (moderate) what information is provided in the posts......this one is about freedom of speech and truly helping people with problems and questions about this therapy.

I don't know what your agenda or problem is, but if we applied your criteria (about this forum) to "religion", none of us would be going to church, either.

Maybe you're another religious hypocrite, too.

I can think of a lot of bible passages that could apply here. (even though I'm not all that "religious"......and try my best to avoid being a hypocrite)

But, welcome to the forum. If there's any information you need, please feel free to ask questions. There is lots and lots of information to be found on this forum.

I hope my new thread would show that I am not trying to be a "hypocrite", but had a legitimize question on how things were run around here.

I read that after I posted to this thread.

You mentioned in that thread that you had some questions......so, ask away. We'll do our best to try to answer them.

Muse-Inc. Even the subject header knows how to handle alcohol.
