Hi everyone. I'd just like to say ...

Whatever.

Also, Australians rape aborigines and Americans shoot their neighbors.

One lesson from this forum is do not get into an Aussie vs USA (this or that) debate. I have
(hopefully) learned this lesson.

You as an Aussie might only win any such them n us debates if the forum is based in
Australia - else - if based in the US you will only win by default or luck or lack of interest.

We humans do tend to be parochial and it is fully understandable, so triggering any such
line of debate where it turns into Aussies apparently being critical of US systems or our
US friends apparently being critical of Aussie systems, is doomed to general failure even
if individuals feel they won their points.

Mars, I gotta say you stirred up a no-win situation when none was necessary.

Cheers your Aussie mate

DSM

DSM,

I agree in part with what you posted. It is silly to have a U.S. vs Aussie debate since the countrymen of both nations have a great camaraderie and good history and that relationship will not change.

I have good Aussie friends living hear in CA and I also spend months at a time on the East Coast and find good Aussie friends there. Over the years eight trips to Australia have taught me to love the country and I will visit for the ninth time probably in 2011. (Have to figure out how to breathe or stay awake for the duration of the long flight.)

Where I depart from the tone of your post, is that Mars stirred up a nationalistic debate. What Mars posted was an example intended to support a socialist position on health care against a capitalist position. That is a debate I like to take part in and it is a debate about ideas and which system is moral and practical. It is not a U.S./Aussie debate.

BTW, very unfortunately the U.S. medical care system is at least 50% socialist. Federal and state governments pay over half of medical care costs through Medicare, Medicaid and other programs. There are plenty of our citizens who, like Mars, brag about paying little to nothing for very expensive medical treatment. Also, just like Mars, they confuse "price" with "cost".

On the other hand, Bill Bolton frequently is looking to tout the superiority of Australia over the U.S.

So pointing readers to the independent data from the World Health Organisation, and even the USA's own CIA, is now twisted into touting. The trolls are certainly out in force today

So Well - is that Mars stirred up a nationalistic debate. What Mars posted was an example intended to support a socialist position on health care against a capitalist position.

Gee, I thought it was about feeling good about getting my tooth fixed for $23-00.

Elena thought that too. I had a nice post from her.

Who knows - there may have been more good people who would have been happy for me, but no, you and Bob3000 had to misrepresent what I said, just as you have done above. And so my thread was turned into an admiration society for two Trolls.

So Well ( ) and Bob300 ( ) - you are both liars and dishonest in your posts.

DSM got it wrong - it was never about competing healthcare systems, it was about having fun with friends.

Until I got trolled.

This is why lurkers do not post.

No doubt more lies and misrepresentations will follow this, but forum members are not fools. I will let what you say make my point, just as Bill has done.

And as you seem so determined to take over the thread, I thought I would acknowledge that.

Really? So the tax burden is NOT carried by the wealthy, but instead shared equally by all? Please...

The bulk of personal taxes is being paid by the top 25% of taxpayers.

The successful subsidize health care for everyone else. You and Mars should be more appreciative.

To the best of my knowledge, everything I've said has been true. I haven't lied. Repeating your insults does not make them true. You're just a typical internet bully, and I am not impressed.

What would be nice is if everyone could be civil to each other here.

We all agreed to this user agreement when we signed up for this forum.
user-agreement.php

That includes the following statement:
While using CPAPtalk.com, you will not:
post any material, or links to any material that is (at our sole discretion) knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violates any law;
Most forums would have locked this thread by now because it is no longer productive. cpaptalk tends to be more relaxed than most forums.

Perhaps we can just let this one rest and we can all move on.

I suspected Mars has been at this for awhile. Thanks for proving it. Mars kept posting about how innocent this thread was supposed to be. My ass. What a malignant personality! Typical partisan B.S. - if someone disagrees with you, you just call them a liar/idiot/hypocrite/etc. and then you can just ignore their reasoning and pat yourself on the back for always being right.

Rhetorical question...Why in the world did a post about someone getting a good deal on a tooth problem turn into this?

I learned a while back that everyone on this forum who has an opinion on healthcare and/or health insurance (or politics...) is pretty much planted in concrete (including me), meaning no amount of logic, illogic, name-calling, vulgarity, pleasant debate, irrational debate, facts, lies, personal examples, etc….is going to change anyone’s mind. Even if you manage to get someone on “the other side” to see your point-of-view, it still doesn’t mean they will agree with it. As long as it’s civil, it can be insightful, but…

Thank you. Really, for your post and links.

6 posts talking about my view of integrity become in your mind bashing a forum member selling health supplies. When you lie, as you did above, it is best not to provide a link that proves you are lying. Thank you for providing the evidence that you are a liar, and not a very good one.

Those reading that link and that thread, will also see how So Well distorted everything I said to suit his agenda of attacking me.

And thank you for directing Forum members to my 725 posts. I notice you do not point to the "plenty more posts" where I "set the record straight". Probably because they are not there. I once posted an article about the American attitude to reform, in one of Roosters threads, trying to be helpful, and I recall he did not have a problem with it.

So, Really, the links you give indicate you are outright lying about me. This is more sad than culpable.

Anyway, thank you for your post.

cheers

It looks like you did not read the links Really so kindly directed you to, or you just ignored them.

Whatever, your malicious (and pompous) statement above is appreciated, because it clearly demonstates how vicious you are. Once again you have ignored the truth, which anyone who reads all my posts can see.

Maybe I should have retitled this thread "How Not To Lie And Misrepresent".

Hi Bob

I did.

You are welcome to take it as a personal insult if you wish. There have been no shortage of your personal insults to me.

But I thought it was a better reflection of what the thread had become.

Still - "How Not To Lie And Misrepresent" may be more accurate.

I'll think about it, but I reckon it is time we all packed this in, and got on with the primary job of the Forum - helping others.
