I love the Boston Terrier. Grew up with 2 of them. He definitely thinks that the kittehs don't belong in the picture, tho!

I'm in agreement over the dead animal photo. Complete and total agreement. I was merely asking (I thought politely) why she didn't add a "topic" photo into her post as well, to rather help turn us away from the "train wreck".

rested gal, please forgive my poor communication and tact there.
Thanks for the clarification, Roman.

mars wrote:Hi All,

Spoiler - There is probably no point in reading further.

But if you want to, here goes................

The cap on my right front tooth came off recently, and I could only find half of it.

The local dentist in private practice quoted $1,500 to $2000 to fix it.

Which I cannot afford.

I went to my usual community health dentist, and she did a beautiful job of building up the remains of my tooth, and also building up the half a cap I still had. And yes, she then joined the two, and it looks and works great.

The cost - $23-00.

I am so grateful we have a public health system, whilst not perfect, is probably as good as any in the world. See "cross-Country Comparisons" at -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_care_system

which I found fascinating, and, in parts, somewhat inexplicable.

This has been another item of fairly pointless information from

Mars

But I was too excited about the result to not share it with you.

cheers

Mars goes to see dentist and asks "How much to pull two wisdom teeth?"

Dentist says "$100.00."

Mars says, "too much. Can't you do it for less?"

Dentist says "I can do it for $50 if I cut out the novacaine."

Mars says, "that's better but still too much. Can't we do it any cheaper?"

Dentist says, "I could let my trainee do it for $23 but she has never pulled a tooth before and it would be quite painful."

Mars says, "That's great. Schedule my wife for next Tuesday."

Hooked on Phonics, baby. Hooked on Phonics.

Maybe with CPAP, I'll get back to my normal observant self. Looks like it's working so far.
