For some reason, sometime installing Microshaft SQL server tends to sit for a LONG time, apparently not doing anything, then it will complete the install 10 to 20 minutes later.

Yes, it was frustrating, especially since in another career I used to install and manage SQL servers for a large Fortune 500 company. I guess sleep apnea (along with lupus antibodies) makes you forget a lot of things you once knew very well ... I wish there was a Mac version of this software.

Does anyone know if the EV software tries to erase your card data? I've been copying it to my computer so not to risk it.
I have the same operating system and I thought it was locked up when it started installing the SQL server but after a good ten minutes it moved on. There was another part of the installation when I thought it was locked but after at least five minutes - maybe longer - it continued and finally installed correctly. I don't think I have had any other programs take so long
It might be worthwhile to try again and see if you get the same results.

Transferred from Vista 32 bit to Window's 7 64 bit. Transfer via CD did not work. Transfer via USB key worked just fine.

Thanks!! Now my Vista 32 can go ahead and die in peace with good riddance.

I'm a software engineer, so I've no problem paying for software that I find useful. But these idiots who wrote EncoreViewer 2.0 such that it will not install on 64 bit machines made me regret paying for it. Not sure if cpap.com will take a return on software.

Thank you for the advice to install on a 32bit machine, and then copy the 3 folders over to the 64 machines "Program Files (x86)" directory, I worked well for me.
Now I can at least use the viewer on my new computer.

This is my very first post. I created this login to thank the OP and everyone who responded here to help others.

My cousin called me up to ask me how to install Encore Viewer 2.0 on her new 64-bit Windows 7 machine.
She has the Philips Respironics System One Bipap auto Biflex with the SD card.

I called up cpap.com (800-356-5221) and the person who answered (Annie) said to find the fix at cpaptalk.com.
Subsequent googling for "encore viewer 64-bit Windows 7 url:cpaptalk.com" brought me here.

I forwarded the URL to my cousin, who copied over the three directories from her old PC to her new PC.
This tutorial worked like a charm!
The only glitch she saw so far is described below in an email to me:
thanks! it worked first time ..was easy too...... i followed the url and what you said to do and it worked fine moving from the old computer to the new computer. i deleted it from the old computer because it says to do that.

funny thing i noticed...and i don't understand it yet the old computer had 17 pages of data with 302 days of sleep info and the new computer has the same dates and 302 days and the same info but the report is only 16 pages long

I installed Encore Viewer 2.0 in Windows 7 Pro in the XP Mode. It worked fine one time, finding the card reader and downloading my data. Then 2 days later I plugged the card reader into the same USB slot and the program did not recognize the card reader. I tried clicking on "USB" at the top of the XP Mode window and attaching everything shown. Still doesn't work. Anyone with computer expertise have any ideas? Thanks

Only thing I can think of is try updating the DT3500 driver software. I had a similar thing happen with my Encore Pro...worked fine for a couple of days then I got the "can't find card reader" message. Seems like Pro forgot where to go for some reason.

That worked for me but that was Pro..

Might give it a try if you haven't already. If you have...will have to wait for other ideas.

OK - I'll try this, but since Encore Viewer is running on Windows 7 (64 bit) in XP Mode, do I download the XP 32 bit driver or the 64 bit Windows 7 driver? Once downloaded, do I install it while I am in XP Mode or do I just install it while I am on the Windows 7 desktop ?

I am sorry but I have zero experience doing what you are doing with XP inside of Win 7 but give me a minute and let me send you a private message...I have an alternate idea.

Hi, I tried the workaround solution posted here but it did not work for me on my 64 bit system. The program would not boot up, instead I received the following error message:

"The drive or network connection that the shortcut “EncoreViewer2.Ink” refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again."

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
