More annoying than rainout
More annoying than the facefull of water from time to time is the noise created by condensation clinging to the vent holes in my mask! Rubbing my finger around the holes stops the noise for a while but then it returns and wakes me up. I'm using a ResMed Mirage Micro.

Try dailing down on the humidefier settings. I keep mine on 2 or 2.5, shouldn't need more than that. Do you have a fleace cover or any type of cover on the hose. That should help with the rainout, als check your home thermo stat. Hope this will help.

If a hose cover and other methods don't work, you might want to check out some of the discussion at this link:

Of course, it's always possible that your exhaled breath condensing inside the cold plastic of the mask itself is causing the moisture at the vent. If there's a way you can make (better yet, get someone else to make it ) a fleece cover for the outside of the mask ....

Try and figure out where most of the moisture is going when it condenses and put a cotton ball or something similar that will absorb moisture in that spot.

Just checking... Is your machine lower than your head? Sometimes "condensation" is really rainout.
But in case you've done all that - lowered the machine, covered ALL the hoses with fleece snugglies, dialed down the humidfier, raised your bedroom's ambient temperature - then keep some tissues handy for swabbing.
Good luck!

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

Re: More annoying than rainout
Well, thanks for the suggestions. I know why it happens. I let the bedroom drop to 58 degrees at night. I did buy a ResMed hose cover to see if that would help, but it didn't. Clearly, my room temperature is an issue. One notch difference on my RS H4i is the difference between condensation and none. Thats only about 1/3 up from the off position.
What I'm thinking is that a different relief hole arrangement would solve the noise issue. For example, less holes but larger. I know it is a delicate balance. Just hoping someone else might have had the same problem and found another mask that wasn't so affected.
