Yeah, I'd like to invite that #*&#@! someplace alright.

Hi dsm,

I think all this is Muffy's way to say she approves of CROWPAT's new settings for tonight.
Sometimes she just has a hard time expressing herself. Or relieving herself?

(EDIT: I hadn't previously noticed Muffy's strong words, just her 'dartboard'.)

I think Muffy didn't mean any harm....I got the humor she intended. These SV machines sure have a lot of things that can be fine tuned. Since there is a possibility I may need one of these, I have been following these more technical threads. Along the way, I have learned some interesting things. Thankfully, it is looking like my therapy is not evolving into compSAS...actually, the few centrals I have seen lately seem to be decreasing with pressure.

In the same humorous vein I suggest to Muffy that her mask may really be 255.255.255.0

In all seriousness, I learn lots from SWS and DSM, and I don't mind it all if they are being a bit technical, as I think we all have some engineering background in common. I even learn from Muffy....well sometimes Keep up the good work all of you.

BTW, SWS, did you know that they have issued the science report for Gravity Probe B and it clearly shows 'frame dragging'? (Or is it DSM who was 'close to Gravity probe B'?)

You are such an asshole.

Let me try to explain this so that you might understand.

If all I choose to post is a comment that I believe Banned's setting selections are arbitrary, that is within my right, as is the fashion that I do it.

I have no obligations to do anything else. For that matter, I have no obligations to do even that.

I do not have to "show that I'm mature", "explain complex information", "be open to reason and persuasion", "have a heart of gold", "use a CPAP machine", "be humble", "learn something from those that do" or even "be a competent clinician".

It is truly beyond belief that I compose a humorous response, you somehow think you have the right to decide what and how I post like you're The Head Moderator and then go

when I tell you to go FO.

Save the judgements, sonny, you ain't the boss of me.

I guess that's one of them thar "si-col-o-gee" things, but unfortunately, I flunked that course.

Time to get back to the business at hand and focus on how to fix me please.
Same link as usual. Last night at 13/13-22/Auto/Rise3 is the bottom one.

Well,

I'm truly perplexed. Anybody got any ideas?

Muffy?

My idea is:

EPAP: 14cmH2O
IPAP Min: 14cmH2O
IPAP Max: Unchanged
BPM: Auto
RT: 3

How awful is 14 cmH20 for tonight, CROWPAT?

I'll try it and see what happens. Guess no one else cares or wants to offer a recommendation and logic behind it.

I'd like to see if you can at least score 0 AP at 14cmH20.

I should not have intimated that no one cares. That was crude and not representative of how much I have always appreciated the advice given by good people on this board. I am going to try 14/14-22/Auto/Rise 3 tonight and see what happens. I know that I have gained about 20 pounds since me last titration so additional rpessure may be warranted. We'll see how it goes tonight. All of these experiments have left me pretty tired. I NEVER before made nightly changes. I always went about a week with a change to better evaluate its effectiveness. I'll report back in the morning.

That's generally the best way to do it, Pat. And as a rule, little experimental deltas before or even instead of big deltas whenever possible.

However, I always get my doctor in the loop when experimenting with significant pressure or modality changes. That is still my recommendation. Good luck.

The more I read about the complexity of the respiratory system, the more I tend to also agree it is important to involve a doctor in the process. I am also fortunate that my doctor wants me to bring the information from my machine. And he is open to my experimenting, as long as I (a) define clearly what I am changing, and (b) substantiate the results with data.

Not all doctors feel comfortable with that type of situation. As I note, the more I read the more I understand their reservations. Fortunately, my doctor appears to be willing to work with me to help me attain the best possible therapy. SWS, I think we are both very fortunate.

I can hardly wait to get my new machine. A big thanks to everyone on this forum who shares their knowledge (and cautions) as I start to try to straighten out my sleep.
