Okay, I'm missing something. Why would you have to leave if you sign in as guest? There is a place to leave your name...it shows up and then there is guest underneath it. Then you can sign your posts...everyone will still know who you are.

So what am I missing? Obviously I'm not understanding this.

Jan, I think the main thing is, I'm frustrated because not only do I have to identify myself each time I write a post now and it won't show that it was me who did so on the message board topics but that of a guest poster, but this comes with the fact that I am not receiving any reply notifications to the posts I am interested in or that I have left a reply to since I am a guest, as far as they're concerned on this site, and they don't send reply llink emails to guests. I am so used to having an email sent to me when someone replies to one of the topics I want to keep track of and now there is no way to know if someone replied unless I check each and every topic on the board.

You know, you get so used to things working right and then they stop and you're lost. Maybe I'm just a bit frustrated. Please excuse me. Hopefully my attitude will be better tomorrow.

Except that is happened to me for a few hours today and I am on a Mac

I think it's just a quirk of the particular software cpap.com is using as it seems to effect us all ocaationally.

I had requested to be logged in automatically from this computer, and suddenly (starting a few weeks ago ) I couldn't log off. Erasing the cookies has solved that problem now.
I wonder if its a "server software"/"local cookie version" interaction.

Well, it's a new day and I have a lot of email from the site to look at threads, which is a good thing, and when I went to the first one, I am still logged in from last night. I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens the rest of the day. Hope it stays like this.
