I think that the anvil or the bear trap could be employed to stabilize your mask.

I'm going to use the fix tonight to be sure it's effective. If it isn't, I'll work on it some more tomorrow. Once it's effective, I'll post about it in detail (with pics I took during the process), hoping I can explain well enough what I did so that someone else will be able to duplicate it if they want to.
