Not transformed yet.... but better. I am still tired and ready to collapse into bed at night, but the fog has lifted! I have no trouble staying awake during the day, and a few weeks ago I went with hubby and my little girl to the movies and actually stayed awake thru the entire movie! I am still working on my leak rate, but my AHI is down considerably and I DO feel better I can only imagine how much better I will feel months from now
I dont suffer from insanity.... I enjoy every minute of it!

My diagnosis is "hypersomnia". Not entirely sure what that means.

But I do notice that I have a more "normal" sleep pattern now, after 2 years on the hose. I get very tired between 9 and 10 pm, and go to bed. I wake up pretty naturally sometime around 6 am. There are variations, but the over all average is this. Before, I would have a tough time falling asleep before midnight. And then an even tougher time waking up in the AM.

I do attribute this to therapy. I find myself really looking forward to sleep as a pleasurable activity now.

Cheers,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

I would not say transformed..... but there have definitely been improvements. I am not as tired during the day, generally wake up in a good mood (shhhh, don't tell anybody), dark circles are virtually gone (don't look like i have been in a street fight), and I have been much more even tempered at work (starting to scare co-workers - they think the world is coming to an end), panic attacks/anxiety are almost nonexistant (am going to talk to GP about weaning myself off of Lexapro).

Seriously, i think I have become human again (or maybe for the first time).

Now that I think about it, I guess you could call that a transformation.

I don't mean to make light of the continuing struggle some of you have. I have awful days. My AHI still hovers at 5. I wake up with the mask going fffffffffffffffffffppppppppppppttttttttttttttt too. Its a journey. I know that most of you will eventually find the right mask, stop the leak, etc.

But stick to it. Never give up.. never surrender.

tyvm for the post kteague i completely understand and I hope in time I'll have a good story to tell, sadly just got back from ER due to chest pains and trouble breathing yet again and found out that I have pneumonia probably caused from aspirating on the "rain out" i had for a couple of days. I am not going to let that stop my therapy though just gonna try harder on not inhaling all that condinsation lol. I forgot to mention the good news about this I've experienced was the not getting out of bed every night to pee or whatnot, although i still toss and turn as i mentioned getting up was way worse and since night one i've not had to get out of bed. so instead of 20-30 min of interruptions before I'm down to maybe a minute or two.

Tammie, lower your humidifier to the point of no condesation, and get a heated hose if you do need more humidity. With a heated hose you can get more humidity without condensation (aka rainout).

http://www.sleepzone.com.au for the hose (thought I read someone got it from the states as well).
