Interesting......this person came to the forum in search of product help (advice).

viewtopic/t40145/I-need-product-help.html

Now, we seem to be getting "legal" advice from that same person.

Note that in sin's profile, he is listed as a student in Pittsburgh.

Den, That post where he sought info about equipment was strange sounding. I am guessing he was doing some type of research that had nothing to do with selecting equipment for himself.

I think he has motives that are contrary to the purpose of cpaptalk.com.

I really like PolyMar's last line in that post. I will borrow it and edit it:

'Keep in mind that just like any other industry PAP [techs] have a tendency to push [their credentials] and while this [tactic] might look attractive many times you end up losing some theraputic benefit thus doing yourself an injustice.'

I am glad you Nile swimmers are there for us newer ones, RipVW!

Godwin's Law has been invoked.

That it has! I hadn't noticed.

Sign me up for "Group W"!

Group W is where they put when you may not be moral enough after committing your own special crime

My crime is Felonious Settings Changing, surely worthy of that designation!

As it should be.

Now, can you imagine one person,
walking into their DME, sitt'n down, and resetting their cpap....
and walk'n out....
....they'd just think he was really sick.

Two people, can you imagine two people,
walking into their DME, sitt'n down, and resetting their cpap's....in sync....
and walk'n out....
...they'd just think they were crazy.

Now, three people.....three people...
walking into their DME, sitt'n down, and resetting their cpap's....
and walk'n out....
....they'd think it was an organization.......

....50...can you imagine 50 people a day...yea, I said 50 people a day,
walking into their DME, sitt'n down, and resetting their cpap's....
and walk'n out....
...they'd think it was a movement.....

and my friends, that's what it is......

When they put you in jail for that, I hope they take your belt.

I am just glad carbonman sings loud enough to end war and stuff.

I'm buying me a pitch fork this weekend
President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

A PAP pressure is a prescription, just like you need a script for valium or any drug you need a script from your doc to change the pressure. A sleep professional will not change a pressure without a doctors consent or at least they shouldn't so in my opinion neiher should you. Of course everyone makes their own decisions, but definitely consult with a doctor at least before you make changes.

I think I may be a premediated felon...I'll be changing my pressure settings this weekend....per my sleep doctor's orders....after he looked at data I'm at least misdemeanor criminal for having the data.........uhm, do you think the MD is a premediated felon as well, he has instructed me to change the setting on the machine and I'm "just" a patient who knows which buttons to push......I will be looking forward to my 3 squares and a cot next week. Feeling guilty, looking guilty....waiting for prosecution!!!

So, if I understand you right, officer, I should take Valium before adjusting my pressures?

When dealing with medical professionals, be very careful about pushing their buttons.

At the risk of belaboring the point (or is it too late already..):

YES, Bluebonnet, just as a pharmacist needs a prescription to legally dispense certain medications, a sleep pro must have one to change SOMEONE ELSE's pressure. But there is no law I know of against you changing your own, and I've looked. (If you find one, please let us know...)

Is it illegal for you to stop taking your prescription pills before you run out? Or to take more or fewer per day if you find that more effective? Your body, your health, your decision.
