Remstar Pro with C-Flex and Encore Pro, what data can I get?
I've got a Respironics RemStar Pro with C-Flex, and just got Encore Pro 1.8 up and running. It downloaded the last weeks data fine, but when I look a the report, it's just compliance data, nothing on apneas, snoring, etc. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a menu I have to enable? I've got the model with a LCD display. I'm hoping that I can get the advanced data, or I wasted time and money to be able to download whether or not I used the machine!
Please help. Thanks.

the tank pro? or the m series pro? - which one of these?

Re: Remstar Pro with C-Flex and Encore Pro, what data can I get?
After downloading from the smart card and the report menu comes up, are you clicking on "summary" rather than "full report"? Just a thought

the pro tank has no data - the pro 2 tank and the pro m series does
yes you do have to find full data but lets find out what machine too

I've got the tank pro, the first one in the pics. Does that mean I'm SOL??? and yes, I was doing the full report.

If it has a data card you have the Pro2 Tank.remstarcpap wrote:I've got the tank pro, the first one in the pics. Does that mean I'm SOL??? and yes, I was doing the full report.
I have one and i also have a M-series
PM Rested Gal and I think she will be able to help figure out how to print what you want.
I print up a report every month or so when I go to my Dr. and she really likes it but I don't think she can read it either.

It's model #1005961, which I think is a Remstar Pro, not a Remstar pro 2. It does have a smart card, but I think they both did. I suspect that I probably should have read the manuals first before investing in a smart card reader and Encore Pro. Grrrrr.

Re: Remstar Pro with C-Flex and Encore Pro, what data can I get?
Sorry to inform you......but "yes", you're SOL......at least as far as getting detailed data out of that machine. The Pro was still being sold in the Spring of 2005 but had been discontinued by Respironics in favor of the Pro 2 which came out in either the latter part of 2004 or early 2005. I was fortunate in that I was starting my therapy at about that time and was able to get a Pro 2......and I love it. If you have your prescription, it shouldn't be hard to find a data-capable machine at a relatively "less expensive" price.....either through CPAP.COM, CPAPAUCTION.COM or through private sellers or other sources (where you wouldn't necessarily need a prescription). Over the last four years, the prices on the machines have come down quite a bit and there are more data-capable machines available by more manufacturers.remstarcpap wrote:I've got the tank pro, the first one in the pics. Good luck.

Oh the bright side...
Once you get a data capable machine - you are set on GO.
Take your time a do your homework first. Lots of info on this site about data machines.
Then you can either sell your machine or keep it for a backup.

Re: Remstar Pro with C-Flex and Encore Pro, what data can I get?
A machine can have a Smart Card, but still not be able to record "full" or "enhanced" data onto the Smart Card. Some machines with a Smart Card in them record only hours of use, not full data, on the Smart Card.
If the machine looks like the top one in the pictures jules posted above, and if it has the word Pro (not Pro 2) on top, it records only hours of use onto the Smart Card. No full data.
As Den said, the older Pro doesn't record full data...just "hours of use."
The older Pro 2 records full data.
My list of machines that record "full data" (AHI and leak info) and those that don't -- as of October 2008:

Den (Wulfman) posted a list of the model numbers for Respironics machines:

Those numbers are on this Respironics page:

This Respironics site also takes you to the model numbers after you start at the "Sleep Disorder Breathing" section and work your way to the machine you want to see, then click "Resources" (menu at right side on the machine page) - "Parts and accessories":

Prob a good place to ask the burning question -
Has anyone ever taken the 2 above machines apart to determine if the non-recording machine can be modified to record FULL data? Are the mainboards that different or is there a jumper on the board to select or deselect?
Deep thoughts from GumbyCT

Re: Remstar Pro with C-Flex and Encore Pro, what data can I get?
I PCB for the Pro 2 and APAP tanks are the same part number. I was kind of wondering this when I took apart the Pro 2 the first time (yeah there has been more than once). However I expect they are loaded differently.
As far as the Pro vs Pro 2, I don't know. I am sure some parts are interchangeable.
I think the questions are when did Respironics start building CPAP that were capable of recording full data where does the Pro vs Pro 2 fit into this time scale.
Just going back to the OP, yes if someone says Remstar Pro, I think "tank" and this time that is what it was. Most people with m series indicate that, but of course, not all.
The tank Plus has no card; the Pro has a card.
Tank to m series - this is the data and cflex - there is also a altitude setting that might be different translation
Tank plus w/o cflex is now "basic" - no frills DS100
Tank plus w/ cflex is now plus - no card module
Tank Pro w cflex is now "plus" with data card module
Tank Pro 2 is now Pro

Re: Remstar Pro with C-Flex and Encore Pro, what data can I get?
Thanks a lot for clarifying this. I sure wish I had know this before buying my current machine. How useful is full data recording anyway?
I may open the machine and see if there's anyway to mod it, jumpers, etc. Or just look for another Respironics machine that will support full data. I like the Remstar Pro C-flex, but I'd feel better knowing I could track actual outcomes....

I expect if there is a difference it could be in the firmware. To check the firmware if we could get both the Pro and Pro 2 posted here, we could figure this out.jules wrote:I PCB for the Pro 2 and APAP tanks are the same part number. Firmware enters in but I would also wonder about the actual components on the boards and even the main boards themselves.
Maybe we need Wulfman in here.
