Great news Kira, congratulations. I myself have been just...busy with life, I guess, and have not posted or visited the forum for months, but your post I checked out!

Lovely Christmas gift for you, and I know my Christmas seems brighter and happier for it, so perhaps it's a gift we all to some extent feel we share!

Ozij,

Half way there, yeah! It both seems like it has been forever and not that long at all. BTW, currently reading Beyond a Shadow of a Diet. Fascinating.

Grandmma,

Life is like that sometimes -- I've been away myself, but when I came back, I scanned for the folks I know.

It really was a good Christmas gift!

Funny, but a week or so ago an old thread got revived and when I saw your picture in it I thought, Isn't it about time for an upate? My good intentions were to send you a PM soon, but I'm glad you didn't wait for it, as my memory doesn't always communicate with my intentions. So happy to hear another good report. With all your healthy eating, you may even get a new wardrobe to wear on that cruise!

P.S. So often when I place a neck pillow backwards to brace under my chin you cross my mind with your "brandy keg" solution.

Kira...how wonderful! I know you're thrilled...what a wonderful present to get at this time of year! I'm delighted for you. When I fell and landed on my shoulder last summer, I had to start sleeping on my back...I thought of your neck "keg" and bought a soft foam cervical collar to keep my chin from dropping and breaking my pillow seal -- it works quite nicely so thanks for sharing that tip!

Well, good news is one of those things that should be shared more frequently than bad news! So I couldn't resist hopping in to do that!

Dunno about the new wardrobe... further weight loss is proving tough, after the 180 pounds off.

<g> We're not planning on cruising -- this is to be a rail trip through the Canadian Rockies, with a few stays in the old Canadian Pacific Railway hotels.

Yes, a perfect Christmas present!

Actually, my "brandy keg" grew out of mention by an acquaintance that her husband used a cervical collar to keep his chin from dropping. However, with as warm as it gets in New Orleans most times of the year, having foam wrapped all the way around my neck just wasn't going to work -- I'd be sweating to death. The brandy keg keeps my chin up and leaves three-fourths of my neck clear. I'm glad the idea worked for you, and I hope your shoulder is better!
