Derek's MyEncore Software Now Hosted on cpaptalk.com
Repironics
Respironics creates a directory "Encore Pro Backup". Does anybody know how I can import all this data into encore. I have tried using the different types of utilities, but I can't seem to retreive. The two files in the backup directory are EncorePro.mdf and EncorePro_log.LDF.
Pardon my question, but I have a Remstar pro2 with cflex, and this is a quote from their website, which makes me wonder if this software might not be useful to us. Comments invited:rested gal wrote:Patrick, unfortunately software wouldn't help you get the kind of information you want to see. The only info the Remstar Plus can give is how many hours you've used it..."compliance" info only.
REMstar Auto with C-Flex and the new REMstar Pro 2 with C-Flex come complete with Respironics’ Encore Pro SmartCard technology built in. This powerful tool allows you to handle patient files, develop patient reports and track overall treatment progress of patient populations. Encore Pro’s true database architecture unleashes its ability to manipulate and manage patient data. You can even compare the wellness trends of different patients to explore ways to improve overall care based on different criteria such as insurance provider or sleep lab. The SmartCard records the date, time, ramp usage and duration of each session. Additionally, both machines allow the SmartCard to record leak, apnea/hypopnea index and snoring – data previously only available from the REMstar Auto with C-Flex. It can even be programmed to update the patient’s prescription – when the programmed SmartCard is inserted, the prescription settings are automatically transferred into the device – no in-home visit is required.
It sounds like you are comparing two different machines. On the Remstar pro 2 you have, cpap.com states: The new REMstar Pro 2 is a powerful tool for promoting compliance with OSA therapy. It provides the comfort of C-Flex technology and also captures enhanced compliance data (AHI, leak, and snoring) with the Encore Pro SmartCard and Data Management Software. The older Remstar Pro does not record Apnea Hypopnea Index, Leak, or Snore. The two machines are otherwise identical.
It appears the one you have will record this info and the Remstar plus referred to earlier will not. I have neither, I use a bipap so it is just an observation.

Link to my encore
When I click the website the page changes but there is nothing there.
_________________Well, I've loaded the updated 1.5 Encore Pro to go with the Respironics Bi-pap pro2 Auto and now My Encore will not open.
It won't open for me either. The message I get:
Unable to access the EncorePro database.
MyEncore will close...
Index #0
Message: SQL Server does not exist or access denied.
LineNumber 0
Source: .Net SqlClient Date Provider
Procedure: ConnectionOpen (Connect()).
BTY, I have EncorePro open when I get the message.
Thanks.
Remstar Models that Support Encore Data Card
Which of the RemStar machines support the Encore Data Card?

FYI - Software compatibility issues
- The Remstar Pro 2 does provide the same sort of compliance data as the auto machines but you must be running EncorePro 1.5.x software or the output will be very limited. i.e. the Pro 2 is a newer product than the version 1.4 software that is shipping on CD so you must update from the web for the new machine and features to be recognized.
- Access denied issues with MyEncore are probably related to security enhancements in version 1.5 of EncorePro. If the enhanced security options were selected during upgrade then MyEncore will probably not be able to access the database. The previous database appears to have been completely unprotected.
- It appears that the database schema probably changed between EncorePro 1.4 and 1.5. MyEncore complains about an invalid column name "UnitModelD" when running against EncorePro 1.5.82 and database 10.19. I fully expect that MyEncore would need to be modified to support the new database layout, i.e. in the current state it is probably not compatible with the latest EncorePro 1.5.x setup.

MyEncore has already been modified to support the latest EncorePro version. See the link contained in the following post:
derek wrote:Hopefully the latest version of MyEncore for Encore Pro 1.5 fixes the problem with access to the database reported by many of you. The problem was with the way Encore Pro installed the MS SQL server if you were doing a clean install, as opposed to an update from Ver. 1.4
You can download the latest beta version (Ver. 15B7) from
Download MyEncore Ver. 15B7
Note: This version will not work with Encore Pro Ver. 1.4.xx. It is designed explicitly for Encore Pro 1,5. You can still download MyEncore for Encore Pro 1.4 from cpaptalk.com - see the "sticky" at the top of the forum.
Another minor change: the average values of daily indices reported at the bottom of the graphs are now "rounded" instead of being truncated.
As usual, uninstall previous versions before re-installing. I also suggest you check the "Install for everyone" box on the install screen.
Let me know if you have problems.
Thanks to Ric and Jerry69 for their patience and assistance.

I may be mistaken, but I think Encore Pro 1.4 works fine with the Respironics Remstar Pro 2 machines. I don't believe it's necessary to have Encore Pro 1.5 in order to have the Pro 2 machine recognized, or to receive the same data output (AHI, marking apneas, hypopneas, charting leaks, etc.) that one gets from autopap machines.seepap wrote:- The Remstar Pro 2 does provide the same sort of compliance data as the auto machines but you must be running EncorePro 1.5.x software or the output will be very limited. i.e. the Pro 2 is a newer product than the version 1.4 software that is shipping on CD so you must update from the web for the new machine and features to be recognized.
It's my understanding that it's the new Respironics Remstar BiPAP Auto machine that requires Encore Pro 1.5 in order for the machine to be recognized and to get data from it.
Thanks Guest! Works like a charm, missed that post . . .
Restedgal, all I could get from my Pro 2 with version 1.4i was some really simple compliance charts, basically just hours of use. Kind of got the impression that the software thought the machine was just a Pro. I could be wrong but I quickly upgraded as soon I couldn't find the detailed data that was supposed to be there. I may have been a bit hasty there but I was afraid that the Pro 2 compliance features might have been vapourware (yes I am very cynical), in the end it works as advertised. The documentation doesn't say anything about this issue with the Pro 2 but they did specify another new machine, probably the one you noted. The machine was definitely released many months after the 1.4i software so if in doubt upgrade.
Slumberer, I received 1.4i just a few weeks ago. Maybe I got old stock and you will get the new version. It really doesn't matter that much. If you get 1.4, just install it then go to the Respironics web site and download the update, there is a link to it on the cpap.com order page for the software. It will let you install it if the previous version is there.

Encore Pro starts okay but.......
MyEncore gives me a message: "Failure to load resource from resource file. Please check your set up."
I haven't connected my smart card or reader to the computer yet, is that what is causing the issue with Derek's software? What is "resource" and how can I check my set up?
