So glad you are back on the forum and back home again. Thank goodness you have a great wife that was there for you and got you to the hospital quickly. I do not want to think what could have happened.

Please know you are still in our prayers and thoughts as you recover.
Take care

Glad to see you back, my older brother had one of those yesterday morning at 4:30AM, he had 3 stents put in last night, looks like he gets to go home tomorrow.

Because he smokes, I told him not more than 2 weeks ago he was in line for one, he didn't believe me. If he didn't smoke he'd probably be in good shape, he's only 5' 10" and 165lbs. I think he'll finally quit now.

Jerry,

In the immortal words of Dory, from the movie Finding Nemo: "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming..."

I hope your recuperation continues to be swift.

Jerry, you (and your family as well) are in our thoughts and hearts. It is !! WUNNERFUL !! hearing your "voice" and knowing that all is progressing so well.

The following poem by an
anonymous author just seemed to fit perfectly for you right now...with some modifications (change "buddy list" to "forum buddy" and "I" to "we"; and "me" to "us"...sure hope you can feel it's meaning):

Buddy List
I see you on my Buddy List,

I watch you come and go

Like a light that flickers on and off,

how little do you know

How much you mean to me,
how much I like you so.

And when I hear the little chime,

how welcome does it sound

A pretty note that
brings to me tidings that abound

My online friend I always enjoy you so ...

You have touched my life in many ways

as you come and go.

You come with laughs,

you come for hugs

It matters not the least

As we share each day along the way...

I consider myself truly blessed.

Tears and smiles

make up your name

And bring life to an unknown face...

It seems as though

some thoughts are the same

As our messages travel

from place to place.

When I see you on my Buddy List

I can't help but Smile...

I'm thankful you're my Buddy ...

and I just wanted you to know!

Well, I messed that post up. I am not home yet. I found a unsecured link in ICU and have posted from it from my laptop. Am hoping to get to go home soon but am hurting more by the day. Maybe I can turn the corner soon I hope.

Jerry, it's so good to hear from you. When your daughter wrote to us, it struck me as ironic that you and yours were able to escape Ike's fury, and then this had to happen. We never know what's next, eh? I know how nuts things get for family members when there's a crisis like this. Please tell Pixey how very much all of us appreciated the extra time and effort she took to let us know. Only those who've had their chests "cracked" can truly understand what you're going through; I've been told the first few days "after" are very rough. I'm continuing to pray for your complete recovery and that your pain will lessen sooooooon.

Considering the crazies that post here (not ME, of course ) maybe you'd better have somebody check out the posts before you look at them so you can avoid the hysterical ones for a while. Wouldn't want us to be responsible for your pulling stiches or popping staples. Hang in there. We're all pulling for you.

Marsha

Hey, I have a great friend with a HUGE FREAKIN SCAR down the center of his chest. Hasn't stopped him from climbing up on the roof of the museum to nail down a stray shingle or any of the other zillions of chores he does for us. I know it will get better for you, Jerry. Healing up that chest will hurt like heck for awhile, just tough it out, and know it will get better.

Kinda like breaking into cpap therapy.

Shall we send you a strip of leather to bite down on, Pilgrim? I think I have some lead balls you could use, if you prefer biting bullets.

Huggers,
Babs

Hey, thought I'd just tag this on here, instead of making a new thread.

Just got another email from Jerry. He's having a tough time with his CPAP. Gee, imagine that... Anyway, on top of everything else, he's taken up mouth breathing, and his AHI is all over the place, and he's pissed about that. Again, DUH!

So, he's needing a full face mask. He has one, but there's a crack across the front, he says.

I thought maybe I'd throw it out to the forum and see if anyone has a FFM they'd like to get rid of by sending it to Jerry. What the heck. I'd send him one, but I don't own one anymore.

So, if you're interested in helping out a Forum Friend who'se been a great help to many here, PM me, and I'll hook you up.

If all else fails, we could pool our money and send him a brand spankin' new one, in lieu of flowers.

Cheers,
Babs
