The original poster happens to be a high-contributing member of society with an advanced education including physics and economics. Last I checked he was politically conservative. Poor lad has an incurable sense of good humor, tolerance, and humility, though. Don't think you'd care for him in real life.

Marsha, here's a woman beer for ya! I may be masculine, and I may be highly apolitical at times, but my views happen to be feminist.

You know what they say about ".....ugly goes to the bone." The pants suit (itself) may not have been all THAT ugly.

I want to know if McCain and Palin have seen it and what they're reactions were.

Yeah, it's objectification, blah, blah, blah - but either way - postive or negative, it's got people talking about McCain and Palin. They're probably laughing all the way to the bank with the free advertising it's given them. Stuff like this - even when it's negative - puts the new face on the map. It's not out of the realm of possibility that this video came from McCain's own campaign peeps as a viral advertising scheme.

You're fine just the way you are, SWS. Loved the "Mr. Rooster" comment, BTW. And we love you, too, Rooster, just the way YOU are.

A woman beer.......
Hmmmmmm...........
Well, okay, as long as it isn't like those girly tool sets with pink (PINK!!!) hammers, screwdrivers, etc. Sorry, Babs, pink suits you very well. Not this girl.

Oh, what the hey. It's a beer. Sure, send it on over, SWS. A glass?? Nah. Longneck's fine.
Now go back and enjoy your cave. You guys have earned it.

Now why do I feel as if I just got consoled for being biologically gender confused in one way or another? Maybe compassion for equality and justice runs in the human genome along some gender basis, but I doubt that.

But we do agree that Rooster is species confused. Right????

Sturko, Why not ask me, the original poster? Well you didn't, but anyway .........

Before answering your question, let me give you a little background. I voted for George W. Bush and his pappy each time they ran. I voted for Ronald Reagan and am still a big fan of his. I am a Bible-believing southern (lower case 's') Baptist. Politically, I am a strict constitutionialist and a liberal (classical sense, not today's meaning). I cherish our Republic (it is not a democracy).

Since the electorate will hardly elect anyone unless they are members of the two major parties, I prefer to see one party with a congressional majority and the other holding the Presidency. This makes it more difficult for the sorry rascals to pass new laws which are almost always counterproductive and pull us farther from our constitutional grounding. In a poll, I would say "undecided" but I am leaning heavily toward the McCain/Palin ticket, if for no reason other than the one just mentioned. I assume you will vote McCain/Palin and I find it so distasteful to be in your voting block, that I may reconsider my leanings.

Now to your question, I posted the youtube link because I thought it is terribly funny. It is terribly funny because it captures the foibles of the male mind in a very serious setting.

Have a good day.

-Sturko, that was a dastardly deed to delete my post but the owners of this forum granted you that right and I will respect that.

-Every candidate has curmudgeons among his supporters.

-Sturko, does it make you happy that today's Republicans campaign as Republicans and govern as Democrats? It is very distasteful to me.

-I hope you get great help and support from the forum for your cpap therapy.

Thanks for the kind words, -SWS. I will visit my mother tomorrow and show them to her. She will really enjoy them and is the only person I know who will believe they are true.

I would also add that political satire and farce are a luxury and privilege afforded only by free societies. Serving a democratic and free constituency means that you will gladly tolerate the full spectrum of public opinion---from satirically outrageous to politically outlandish, from sociopolitically incensed to intellectually inane.

To the credit of presidential candidates and elects from all parties, they seem to take that public requirement of tolerating media and opinion in great stride. ..Even if wkosturko clearly could not.

There's Rooster's humility at it again. What a cool human being.

Den, this is not exactly a leather thong, but here's political humor from the GOP camp, that just so happens to fit in with our earlier Neanderthal theme:

I don't think he's particularly fond of the Annual Running of the Monkeys Festival either...

I just love this thread - thanks, Rooster for starting it and for your continued comments! I'm not good at satire but so much appreciate the fact that we can say what we want and the worst that can happen is some humor-challenged individual will attempt to spoil the party. That's a priceless gift and I *never* want to lose it.
