How Fat Are You?
My weight
I'm 47, 5' 11" 212 Lbs. I carry a lot of muscle on my frame but I'd still like to get back to my ideal weight of 185. FYI according to the body mass index teble, I'm obese! It so obsurde. I have a client, Lee Haney who is my age and is a former 8-time Mr. Olympia. He's about my hight and close to my weight but he's ALL MUSCLE! Too bad he's obese too...
You do know those BMI charts are a load of shit develped in the 19thC don't you? I can't imagine why doctors pay any attention to them at all these days....

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

5'6" and 328# last checked. I have been on the c-Pap for almost 2 weeks so i don't know if that will make a difference. I have gained about 30# in the past months with no change in habits. And with adding 30-45 minutes of daily exercise (usually riding a stationary bike - sometimes swimming or walking) there has been no change either way.

I don't skinny-dip... I chunky-dunk.
I'm male, 45yo, 380#. If nothing else, I hope that information help many of you to feel better about yourselves.
When I began CPAP in 2001, I weighed 250# and therapy began at 10cm. In 2005, my weight had risen to 320# and I started light snoring, so the Dr (without a visit) told me to increase to 12cm. Two months ago, weighing in at the aforementioned 380#, I began regularly waking up out of breath. An EKG did not suggest any heart problems, so I just self-increased therapy to 14 and so far that's done the trick.
Unfortunately, I am now self-pay (COBRA ran out) and I could not afford the $365 per month total-cashectomy of catastrophic coverage--meaning I'd be paying $4400 per year for insurance AND paying out-of-pocket for everything up to a very high deductable. So for now, for good or bad, it looks like self-managed care or nothing for me.
Thanks for listening.

If you can't breathe, nothing matters.
5' 1" and 180 lbs. Hope to be at 160 or less by Christmas now that I'm not one of the walking dead.

To have what you want is wealth; to be able to do without is power.

Well, this is painful, but not anything I don't already know.
Yep! Weight is an issue. I'm 45, 5'7", 225 lbs.
However, when I married my wife 23 years ago, I was 130 lbs and still snored like a freight train.
My mom has pictures of me doing the same as a teenager. So while my weight isn't helping my sleep apnea, I don't believe it's the cause of my apnea.
