well i picked up my quattro today and was planning on trying it out tonight, but i can't get the thing to seal no way no how...like i said earlier, the moron at my dme told me it only comes in medium and large, yet the card that is in with the mask clearly states that it's available in xs, s, m, l, xl
so what gives? probably just trying to pawn off whatever they had in stock on me...

so yeah, it's too big...already sent an email to the only person at that place that seems to have an ounce of sense to request a small, so i'll see what happens next

When I first tried using my FFM I liked my nasal pillows mask(s) better. As I'm using the Quattro more, I gradually getting to prefer it. It seems easier to deal with. Downsides: some nights I can't get it to seal and I do get red marks around my face from the soft silicone flap. They disappear quickly, however.

Still no "perfect" mask even with tweaks.

Mindy

I am still adjusting to my HC431.. I sometimes take it off mid-night but I wake up later on and realize. Overall I think I am getting a better night's sleep since leaks are always below .1 (unless I take it off). The mask is more useful, also, since last night I was very congested and I used my mouth to breathe.

I had that problem. I figured I was a small, then I realized that the HC431 is supposed to rest under my chin, and I bumped it up to a Medium and it fits WONDERFULLY now.

unfortunately, i'm having the opposite problem with the quattro...it's much too long, resting too close to my eyes and almost coming off the chin

if i can't get this to work the next in line is the f&p 431

Is that the medium, or the small?

Sharon,

You might want to try the next smaller size ....

oops sorry, i thought i mentioned earlier that she gave me the medium, then told me that it only comes in med. and lrg., and if i can't get the medium to work for me, i'm outta luck

so yeah, the email i sent to customer service today was to request the size small, and it'll be ready for pickup on tuesday; i think the r.t just tried to pawn off old stock on me

i also mentioned to the c.r. rep that i want it noted in my file that i won't deal with that particular r.t. again...she has been nothing but a PITA since day one

Hi Sharon, I am so sorry that you had the disappointment with your mask. you have been anxious about it for a couple of weeks.

Just a thought here, if they are pawning off their stock on you, you may get one of the masks that leak at the elbow in front. Do a Search on this, I remember reading lots of posts about it and how to fix it with Teflon tape.

The newer masks "supposedly" had this problem fixed, so you may not have a problem with it. But just in case, I just thought that I would mention this to you.

Right now I have a bad cold and my nose is stuffed up. I am a UMFF user and the last two nights I had a good night sleep. I am using the pur-sleep aromatherapy called calm and it has some sort of mint to it that helps clear the sinus. Last night I used eucalyptus oil and it did wonder, 7 hours of uninterruptable sleep with AHI of 3.8.

thanks for that info, joyce; it did, in fact, leak at the elbow...hopefully the small will be a new and improved version

thanks guys

You did mention it, Sharon, but I just wanted to be sure you were still with the medium for that night.

I'm just starting on my own cold (how I dread them on cpap!) but I'm with Dudley, the pursleep stuff has saved my bacon. The mind and eucalyptus really open up my sinus--best sleep I've had on cpap with a headcold (not as good as usual but much better than before!)
