I will have to try that.ThanksBlackSpinner wrote:Better then Vicks is Tiger balm. Put some near the air intake.
Do not put Vicks near your mask like on your nose. It is a petroleum based product and not good for the mask.
Has anyone tried using Vicks vapor rub for congestion?

That is too strong and lasts too long and will use up the container very fast. Just put some on a Q-tip in a saucer near the air intake.OkyDoky wrote:Why not just put the open container behind the intake?

I've not put any Vicks petroleum jelly near the mask, but we had a Vicks cream once. Worked with my pillows fine. Since nasal pillows are a 2-week replacement, not a problem.
Never thoughts of leaving it near the intake. That's a cool (get it?) idea!

I have been doing that for years. It helps with my asthma (I mean I know it doesn't really but part of me believes it and since my asthma gets worse when I get upset about it breathing it calms me)Roman Hokie wrote:I've not put any Vicks petroleum jelly near the mask, but we had a Vicks cream once. Just getting over bronchitis and I wish I had thought to do this. Didn't have any Vick's at the time. But I will use the Q-tip / cotton ball trick next time.

Take an old medicine/drug bottle lid (about 1 inch diameter and 1/2 inch tall) and put a big smear of Vicks in it as you go to bed. Place it under the air intake vent and inhale away. Lasts a few hours. You can wipe and wash it out and re-use.
