2nd part of silly question. Does that mean to use this idea and/or the purrr system you take your filter off and put this in it's place?

Nope, just set the pur-sleep or whatever right near the air intake. Leave all filters on the machine. If you find the aroma to be too strong, move it a little further away from the machine.

Until I tried the pursleep I always kept a jar of Vicks right next to the intake/filters. I was able to get just a tiny whiff of the scent.
The VapoPads and waterless vaporizer sounds interesting!

Ahhhhh. Gotcha. Thanx. There I would have been. . .taking out the filter shoving something in the intake vent and asphixiating my self on an overdose of Vicks. . .some obituary. . ."She died of "Vicksation"

I am looking at a jar of Vicks VapoRub Ointment that I bought yesterday at the drug store (with an expiry date of August 09) and on the front in a red box it says the following:

Nasal Decongestant / Cough Suppresant
According to the Vicks site at
http://www.vicks.com/vaporub-ointment.php#uses

Uses

* On chest and throat, temporarily relieves cough due to common cold
* On muscles and joints, temporarily relieves minor aches and pains

Whoops. Just realised I misread the title of this thread - thought it said 'Has anyone tried using Vicks vapor rub for constipation?' I was a little taken aback, as you could imagine. That'll teach me to put on my reading glasses.

Oh Griz, you Aussies will put anything up your bum, won't you?

Here's an idea, take a cotton ball, rub it in the jar, and then set that on your PurSleep tray under your air intake. Might work. Or just smear it on a clean PurSleep pad.

Bret's working on a Eucalyptus blend. Says it will be out in February. Not MENTHOL, but...

Cheers,
B.

I must say that the eucalyptus stuff might go where the sun don't shine (although normally us koalas would stick it in our mouths!!!!) - its the menthol that would make our eyes pop.

The Vick's site also has a warning "Do not use in nostrils". Is this a round about way of saying that it shouldn't be inhaled.

I hope if he's on his honeymoon he's putting a jellybean in a jar for every time he does what my older son (10) calls 'Woohoos' (something to do with the Sims, I think) - then he can tell me if its true that every time after the first year you take a jellybean out you'll never empty the jar.

I heard this when i was a kid - I'm sure it's why my partner and I have never gotten married - just so we'll never reach the emptying the jar stage!!!!!

I have used a few drops of Eucalyptus oil in the water of the humidifier when I had a cold, it worked well.
